I don’t know what the exact figure was, but a lot of people were getting emergency unemployment because so many businesses shut down because of Covid crowd rules. No business for restaurants, movies, etc. I was visiting several times in a rural vacation community over the Covid years. Small businessmen there were complaining that the former workers were so happy with their unemployment checks, they did NOT want to come back to work, even though they now had business. Others who knew conditions in other places said they were aware of the same kind of trouble finding willing workers.
