US ambassador calls China's tech support for Russia during Ukraine invasion a 'major mistake'

China’s support for Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine through the provision of technology for missiles and other weaponry is a “major mistake,” U.S. Ambassador to Beijing Nicholas Burns said Wednesday.

He said that despite its claims of neutrality, China has sided with Russia, providing a range of technologies.

“We think it’s a major mistake to allow Chinese companies, by the thousands, to be sending so many components, technology components, microprocessors (and) nitrocellulose to Russia to reinforce and strengthen the defense industrial base of the Russian Federation for this brutal war,” Burns said.

The Biden admin is much better at making mistakes versus identifying them.

The hubris in this one statement is so far over the top... or is that under the slop?

“We think it’s a major mistake to allow Chinese companies, by the thousands, to be sending so many components, technology components, microprocessors (and) nitrocellulose to Russia to reinforce and strengthen the defense industrial base of the Russian Federation for this brutal war,” Burns said.

China is a strong sovereign nation who can do whatever they deem appropriate. I have no love of China but do respect them as an independent agency that does not answer to the USA about its ties to Russia. Howabout some common sense and respect?

The bidEn regime’s giving the Uke’s the OK to send US Missiles anywhere in Russia is a bigger ‘major mistake’.

Silly premise.

The Chinese are the major geopolitical benefactors of the Russia/Ukraine war.

China gains:

Cheap Russian oil and gas.

Russian military dependence on Chinese products.

Degradation of Russian military power.

Degradation of NATO and USA military stocks.

Testing, in real time, of NATO/USA military equipment vs Russian/Iranian/Chinese/North Korea military gear.

This opens up a serious possibility of Chinese gains in the territories disputed between China and Russia.

“China’s support for Russia’s FULL-SCALE invasion of Ukraine”

Looks like they’re signaling to the Deep State not to worry about this article.

Open your eyes. Russia and China are Allies—so too Iran/Syria and North Korea. They will help each other out like Hitler helped out Mussolini. Russia won the Ukraine war the moment Putin and Xi shook hands. Russia can fight for fifty years to win. All the drones Iran sends and shells sent by Little Kim are just icing on the cake.

Remember, Stalin and Hitler were allies as well. Until they were not.

Famous quote: Nations do not have friends. They have interests.

China's interests are in keeping the Russia/Ukraine war going as long as possible.

don’t have much of a ground to stand on if you’re sending anything and everything to ukraine.

“sending so many components, technology components, microprocessors”

There are millions of cellphones, Windows PCs, Ipads, Macs and Canon cameras in Russia that have militarily useful chips.

Why do people think they can tell China what to do? Or any other sovereign country.

As for what China is doing or shipping to Russia, I have seen no great proof of any of this. There is a fairly robust semiconductor industry in Russia. There is an interesting measurement of semiconductor junction size that correlates with application. Meaning:

Nearly all applications, including weapons, require Nehalem IPC (This is 45 nm). Really the only devices that demand 28nm and smaller are the top end iPhones. That’s right, weapons don’t really need what is in iPhones.

Russia and China both, outside TMSC, have been making their own 45 nm chips for many years, and Russia is upgrading to 28 nm next year.

This is all silly propaganda. No, Russia is not taking chips from washing machines. They could. That’s all the tech needed for modern weapons, but why bother when 45 nm chips come out of their foundries.

In the old Soviet days, one had to understand that often the ideological and nonsensical speeches one heard directed at us from behind the iron curtain were NOT done as sermons to the West, but rather, were expressions of of loyalty to one’s own Party and bureaucracy.

We wrongly thought they were talking to us, when in fact, they were cravenly sucking-up to an internal audience.

So it is often with the USA today.

Really the only devices that demand 28nm and smaller are the top end iPhones. That’s right, weapons don’t really need what is in iPhones.

I imagine military chips need only be sturdy. They have very limited and specific functions. They don't need to run video-game graphics, stream porn, or write term-papers for college students.

US efforts to control Chinese "high end" chipmaking are really about protecting a lucrative industry American tech companies still mostly control, keeping Apple and Google on top, and keeping US tech as the global standard.

Moreover, imagine the disadvantage the NSA/DHS would be at if the world were using hardware and software standards controlled by China? And there would be no Chinese Edward Snowdens either to tell us about it.

China's interests are in keeping the Russia/Ukraine war going as long as possible.

Which are also exactly the USA deep-state's interest also.

So besides the fact that the CCP has paid Hunter Biden $$ millions, no wonder then that Biden treats China so carefully.
