Trump and Youngkin join forces for first time as Republicans push Virginia further into play
Washington Examiner ^ | June 25, 2024 9:32 am | Emily Hallas

In March, Youngkin skipped a rally to attend a basketball game, citing a scheduling conflict. In October 2021, Youngkin gave the cold shoulder again, saying prior arrangements kept him from appearing at a Trump rally featuring then-chief Trump strategist Steve Bannon.

With new polling indicating Trump is on the rise in Virginia, Youngkin seems to be hopping back on the Trump train.

Correct. This is such a critical election. If Biden wins, USA is toast. It is extremely urgent for a Trump win. Only wat that happens is if the VP brings additional voters in swing states. I don’t care in 2024 if the VP is not full blooded MAGA. Trump will be calling the shots, not the VP.

What happens if Trump (78) can’t make it four years? Then we are stuck with a RINO President and an incumbent RINO nominee in ‘28? Hell NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Trump has to defeat the voting/counting procedures before
he gets a 2nd term. Lots of water to flow under the bridge.

By all means, campaign with Youngkin. Just don’t pick him for VP (or any cabinet position, for that matter).

Ron Desantis is going to be the next President after Trump. So it doesn’t matter who he picks as his Veep.

DeSantis? Seriously? And it does matter who his VP is, because if it's a RINO, they will be that much closer to getting their guy in BEFORE 2028.

Trump's VP needs to be MAGA AND the 2028 candidate must be the same.

Trump has no life threatening health issues.
A Biden win in 2024 will be 100 times worse for USA than a RINO taking over if Trump dies prematurely. Trump is an avid golfer. I was member at 2 different private golf clubs for 15+ years. I observed 100’s of old timers. Regular Golfers tend to live longer than average. We have to take chance with Trump. It is the only chance we have. Trump loss will be total disaster. I would even accept Tulsi on ticket. At least she is not a typical RINO neocon. Neocons have cost this country Trillions in treasure not to mention loss of blood. Add up Vietnam+Iraq+Afghan+Ukraine wars. None were necessary. Zero gain, ugly cost. Read my tag line.

“Whoever will bring most additional voters should be the VP choice. Winning is the only thing that matters (per coach Vince Lombardi). Without a win, all agenda control is lost to leftist Democrats.”

Exactly!

I am not sure if Youngkin brings any additional swing states into play. I am not in favor of him because he seems same as the Bushes.

If they can peel off significant numbers of the black vote in Portsmouth/Norfolk and Richmond areas, and the hispanic vote in NOVA, then VA is very, very winnable.

Hard to disagree with that.

Yes, Trump’s VP needs to be 100% MAGA and the 2028 candidate needs to be so as well. But the two don’t necessarily have to be the same person. In fact, choosing a MAGA loyalist for VP who is reliable, competent and would govern well but who may not have the glitz, showmanship or name recognition to be a great campaigner, would be a good way for Trump to give such a person a chance in 2028 when they would otherwise, likely be ignored.
