I’ve spent time in the Columbus downtown area.

I didn’t feel unsafe, but you could tell it had crime issues.

I didn’t like my “high-end” hotel room. It was appallingly noisy and the carpet was stained.

Columbus standards aren’t what I expect.

Whenever we had to stay at a motel, my mom insisted on seeing the room first before registering. This was SOP for our vacations from the 1960s onward.
