They said “ring”. Why not tell the truth and just say “anus”?

I thought Ringworm was transitable via any skin-to-skin contact. I was involved with martial art tournaments in the 80s and 90s. Guys who participated in grappling styles often used special, medicated body wash formulated to kill fungus and parasites.
Around that same time, I worked with a guy who wrestled with WWF in the Southern circuit. He and his wife used it as well.

“Ringworm” is a fungal skin infection that shows up as a circular rash on the skin.

When you have a state full of degenerates engaging in God only knows what, I would expect any manner of odd and rare things to pop up. I can’t say I’m surprised.

Gee, if you go on some news sites you see pics “A lump of worms will come out in the morning, Try it..”

Ringworm is just a form of jock itch that active people get. It's a reach to call it a STD.

I think they are using the term “ringworm” to mask the true nature of the disease. Otherwise, people might hold an unfavorable opinion of those effected.

California doesn’t deserve a first on this. CDC reported a woman in PA was diagnosed two years ago with a case she’d picked up in SE Asia from a man. The localization of that case, and I’d guess this one are different and unusual from the cutaneous fungal infections its common cousins cause. Although not all reported cases with this bug seem to in that pattern or be sexually acquired. More importantly this bug has developed resistance to the most commonly used anti-fungal drugs, and although just starting to appear here is reportedly becoming common in India. Which skin fungal infections are common have varied surprisingly geographically and over time. I’d rather this one chose to mostly miss us.

The old method of killing ringworm was to place some copper pennies in a bowl of vinegar. When the vinegar turned green you would daub it on the ring worm and kill it.
Also works on Athlete’s foot and crotch itch.
Hard to do now as pennies are no longer made of copper. Any form of copper will do, even stripped wire copper.
