PHOENIX — Arizona delegates to the Republican National Convention gathered this month in a Phoenix suburb, showing up to get to know each other and learn about their duties.
Part of the presentation included a secret plan to throw the party’s nomination of Donald Trump for president into chaos.
The instructions did not come from “Never Trumpers” hoping to stop the party from nominating a felon when delegates gather in Milwaukee next month. They instead came from avowed “America First” believers hatching a challenge from the far right — a plot to release the delegates from their pledge to support Trump, according to people present and briefed on the meeting, slides from the presentation and private messages obtained by The Washington Post.
The delegates said the gambit would require support from several other state delegations, and it wasn’t clear whether those allies had been lined up. One idea, discussed as attendees ate finger foods, was for co-conspirators to signal their allegiance to one another by wearing matching black jackets.
The exact purpose of the maneuver was not clear — and left some delegates puzzled and alarmed. People familiar with the meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations, said perhaps the intent was to block an undesirable running mate...

Yea, it wasn’t the never Trumpers behind it (eye roll)
Can this really happen?
The convention delegates are pledged to vote for their candidate on the first ballot. They are hinting that somehow the rules could be changed.
But the individual delegates were elected in primary elections across the country. They ran and were elected as Trump delegates. Presumably they all support Trump otherwise they would not have run for election As Trump delegates.
It’s true that the nomination is not official until the convention votes. But even if somehow the rules were changed and the pledged delegates are free agents, how many would abandon Trump?
The ratio of the term “far right” to “far left” printed and spoken in the MSM must be at least 100-1.
” Spoke on the condition of anonymity.” Right there the story is bogus.

Seems like an attempt to smear America First Policy Institute.
Look at their leadership, seems pretty pro Trump to me:

I would recommend folks do as I do, disregard unsourced stories from dubious news organizations.
Especially cheap fake news
Yvonne Wingett Sanchez was hired by the Post to deal with Arizona election issues. She’s a propgandist hired more for what she conceals than for anything she might reveal. This story is so sketchy that, if the meeting actually occurred, anything — or nothing — could have happened there.
I think this is BS. I haven’t heard anything of this from delegates, and if you knew some of the delegates, they would strangle anyone who attempted such BS.
I stopped reading when I saw WP.
His left flank, not his right flank.
Let the leftists excite themselves with this BS story.
Thanks for the link.
What democrat front groups are sponsoring them?
I’ll see what they’re saying about this on RAV tomorrow.
I trust Bannon, Kirk, Posobiec and the rest of the crew.
WaPos and google. BS no doubt.
