It depends on the size of the wing. In my glider I can go 44 miles for each mile of altitude. The wings on a glide bomb will be smaller due to constrictions of the maximum wing length that can be carried beneath a fighter bomber. A ratio of 15 to 1 would be reasonable. Thus 5 miles high could easily be 75 miles of glide distance.
