Wasted effort, it won’t be gone, and look at everyone promising that over the years. The problem is not the department, it is the out-of-control spending and bloat that is beyond its core mission. Fix that is more realistic and achievable.

If I’m reading it correctly he’ll keep a small department that creates some standards that the states and schools could use, but get rid of almost all of the bureaucracy. I’m all for that.

Most, not all the teachers are the biggest NPCs I have ever met. The ones who could have got a private sector job but chose to teach were the exceptions.
