Half the Christians in America think the Democrats are on a noble mission to take care of the poor - how is that going to translate into Republican votes?
I knew a woman who called herself a Christian. Was seriously into angels. Talked about herself as "a Christian" a lot.
She was also fiercely pro-abortion, pro-LGBT, feminist, and even excused black rapists as being driven to rape white women by racism.
She was white and preferred black boyfriends. I suspect that she slept around a lot. She intimated that she'd been raped in the past and had at least one abortion. She admitted that she had a gay nephew.
A bulletin board in her home had campaign buttons of Democratic candidates and leftist issues going back decades. But her home was also decorated with much Christian paraphernalia. She did a lot of church hopping, always finding fault with this or that church, complaining that "they have the word, but not the spirit."
You might say she wasn't a real Christian, but she thought she was. She would be classified a Christian in surveys, yet she votes far left.
The problem is all the people who claim to be Christian are not Christian. The man who threatened me the most, who stalked me, who forced me to sell my home, introduced himself as, “I’m a good Christian man.” A true Christian is known by his works. If you have to tell me you’re Christian, then you aren’t.
There are a lot of good people on FR. But they’ll pick some litmus test, often based not on what the politician has done, but what the press reports and they say, “if he isn’t on my side on X then I’ll just stay home.” They don’t understand how politics works. The politician has a firm belief in X. But he’s offered, “if you vote against X on my bill, then I’ll support your bill on Y.” Now he has to do some calculations. If he votes against his firmly held position on X what is the probability that X will pass versus Y passing? He gambles. Also, this gives the opposition an opportunity to call him out on his vote for or against X, which the hardline FR person picks up on never realizing that the bill failed but Y passed. That is how the game is played. What we have to do is elect people who know how to work the odds and then stick with them rather than staying home because the press convinced us how bad he was.
The Chrisitan nonvoter gets to feel righteous about his litmus test without ever understanding how politics works.
Not a bad man, but I think he underestimates the number of Christians.
GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE.....JESUS ISN"T RUNNING!!!
He needs to work a lot harder if this is meant as anything but humor.
If Every BORN AGAIN Christian Voted, ‘We Would Never Lose Another Presidential Election’
Fixed it.
I guess it doesn’t matter one way or the other because “winning” elections doesn’t change much of anything.
I don’t know. Mom was a member of a staunchly conservative Southern Baptist Church and had quite a few Democrats in her Sunday school class. It was the older type, who voted “D” in honor of FDR forever.
What if my whackadoodle cult doesnt agree with your whackadoodle cult?
Look at some of these even more asinine responses you are getting.
My CHRISTIAN is better than yours, you have to do what I say or your arent christian.
I am the only arbiter of what conservative is so you will do what I say or you are a RINO.
My grandma told me that about 200 years ago there were some Russians that were real jerks to my family, I think you and your kids should be killed in Ukraine in an effort to get back at them. They burned down my church which only proves that they were lead by demons....that came here in spaceships as all demons do, so this is really a holy war. God requires your sacrifice. If you dont agree I dont care because you arent a real conservative christian anyway.
I think we just had some of these types of threads around here.
does this clown realize many christians vote for dems and all that comes with them?
I don’t know. I have a friend who goes to Baptist church with his wife every week and probably considers himself to be a Christian, but he will vote Democrat every time.
Needs to go after the Mennonite and (true) Amish vote
