Caitlin Clark suffered another brutal attack on the court Wednesday night when a 235-pound rival nearly smacked her in the head.
It comes amid increased concerns for the Indiana Fever rookie's safety following a spate of incidents involving Chicago Sky players Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter.
Some figures, including Bill Maher and Clay Travis, have even claimed that Clark - who is at the forefront of the WNBA's unprecedented skyrocketing popularity - is being targeted because she's white and straight...
It's been a tough rookie season for the former college superstar, who's been the victim of particularly rough treatment from other players in the league.
Most recently, her longtime rival Angel Reese committed a flagrant foul against her during the Fever's last meeting with the Chicago Sky.
Reese missed a block and smacked Clark on the head while she was jumping for the basket. Although it was an obvious foul, the LSU alum later threw shade at Clark, claiming the Fever received a 'special whistle.'
It came a couple of weeks after Reese's Sky teammate, Chennedy Carter, brutally hip-checked Clark.
Using her own bodyweight, Carter knocked the rookie to the ground as she stood waiting for the inbound during the third quarter.
The Chicago player seemingly yelling 'you b***h' at the 22-year-old, and remarkably managed to escape with a personal foul, which was later upgraded to a flagrant-1 violation.

And she’s not a lezbo
The article needs some clarification.
Racist “Chennedy” attacked Clark because Clark is White, Straight, and successful.
Other racist players have deliberately targeted Clark for physical attacks.
Clark did nothing to deserve the targeted attacks.
No help from fellow players, coaches, or the league. They (black Americans) will only be happy once Clark goes down with a crippling injury.
maybe it is because those players really aren’t that good
The WNBA seems to be filled with Black thugs.
where is the coach?
there should be an enforcer on the court
They can’t match her playing skills so they have to beat her up
Never paid any attention to the WNBA until this year. Now I know why. It’s nothing but a hog wallow.
Exactly, which is why nobody watched the WNBA until Caitlin came in.
I called a sports radio show once and told them that the NBA consisted of hookers, guns, and tattoos. I was lambasted for the next half hour. :) Guess we are not allowed to speak the truth.
Just like the national felon league (I’m looking at you, Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson!).
Wha'?!? Who ever heard of such a crazy thing.

I wish someone would stand up to those bullies and give them a taste of their own medicine.
Is there a women’s league in Europe that she could join?
This is a no brainer. There are RULES that could easily be enhanced to the following: They are called expulsion for a game on 1st violation. 2nd violation expulsion for 5 games. 3rd, you are permanently expelled from the WNBA.
Same applies to referrees, let a flagrant foul go by one time, $1,000.00 fine. 2nd time, $5,000.00 fine 3rd time...”your fired”!
Enforcement of the foregoing might save the WNBA from it’s own racism.
It would have to be other black players, and I don’t think that is happening.
I saw a stat that showed that in terms of points per game and assists per game, she is the greatest player in the history of the WNBA by far.
Black lesbians really don’t like a girl who is popular, straight, and objectively better than them at the thing they think is “their” thing.
“Is there a women’s league in Europe that she could join?”
She has over 30 million in endorsement deals currently. Nike being the largest by far. I suspect those deals would be null and void for quitting and playing in Europe. Of course they would re-negotiated but I suspect at much lower rates. WNBA play isn’t all that great, I suspect the Euro leagues are even less so.
