Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has once again shown that he leads from a Christian perspective after being seen in a t-shirt reading, “But First Let Me Thank God,” as his team celebrated their NBA Finals win on Monday night.

Mazzulla helped lead the team to its 18th championship on Monday. Still, throughout his tenure as the team’s head coach, he has not shied away from celebrating his deep Catholic faith along with his basketball expertise.

The Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 as they played in Boston to best the Mavs in four out of five during the NBA Finals. As his team celebrated, Mazzulla revealed that he had a shirt with a special message underneath the one he wore during the game.

This is far from the only time that Mazzulla has openly professed his faith...

Jayson Tatum did the same, he seems like a good dude, he cried it was his first title..and he thanked God first of all..which was really nice and Im saying this as a lifelong Laker fan, ya know how hard it was for me to root for Boston, but Id rather them have the title than that despicable Mark Cuban

I want to see him wear that to the White House when the Celtics visit the POSPOTUS.

Depending upon the White House & Washington Wizards’ schedule, perhaps (MY) Boston Celtics will be fortunate enough to meet with newly-re-elected President Trump🙏

Thank you for letting me know Boston won. Perhaps Florida can wrap up the hockey season tonight.

Sounds like Paisano name ‘Joe Mazzula’.. Good on him honoring God with his professions of faith.

Cuban sold the team to Miriam Adelson who recently donated a reported $100mm to the Trump campaign.

Luka Dončić seems like an all right kid to me. He’s Slovenian though.

I remember when sports teams won championships and the players ran to the locker room and poured champagne on each other. And reporters would come in and they’d get champagne poured on them along with the team owner.

And everyone watching on TV could see this celebration in the team’s private locker room. And that’s where the trophies were presented. And no female reporters were allowed in there.

It was men acting like men. So of course they had to get rid of it because it was a symbol of toxic masculinity.

Now they have trophy presentations in the middle of half court or the 50 yard line. They turn it into a banquet award ceremony. I refuse to watch one second of it. One more thing that stinks about the modern world of sports....add it to a lengthy list.

Congratulations to coach Joe Mazzulla and his remarkable team. Here in St. Louis we are of course very proud of our hometown hero Jayson Tatum. The entire Boston team showed incredible selfless talent. It was surprising coming from such a bastion of liberality.
