In 2024, Broward is 67% non-white. Black and Hispanic residents are both above 30%.
In many ways, Dade County (Miami) is more Conservative than Broward.
Dade County is 70% Hispanic, but a solid majority are the ancestors of 1960 Cubans, who were, and remain, solidly Republican.
The 1960 Cubans were the business owners and professional class of Cuba. They traced their ancestors mostly to Europe.
Since 1980, almost all Cuban immigrants trace their ancestors to Africa or Latin America. The 1980+ Cubans are overwhelmingly Democrat.
Leon county, with Tallahassee, is probably the extremely liberal panhandle county you are referencing.
