Female Trouble for the Right: The Widening Gender Gap
Chronicles ^ | June 12, 2024 | Carl F. Horowitz

Posted on 06/17/2024 8:57:26 AM PDT by Angelino97

The “gender gap” has been a reality of American voting behavior for over 40 years. And more than ever, polls show men leaning rightward and women leaning even harder leftward. Female resentments lately have hinged on one word above all others: Trump.

According to a Quinnipiac University Poll released this April, women preferred Joe Biden to Donald Trump by 52 percent to 41 percent, while men preferred Trump to Biden by 52 percent to 39 percent. Women aren’t all that enthusiastic about Biden. But they’ll dutifully vote for the old coot if it means putting Trump out of commission. As Leesburg, Virginia resident Nanette Mees put it last fall: “I don’t think that [Biden] is the perfect one. But if I have to pick between him and Trump, who I would never, ever, ever vote for, it would be Biden...

If Trump is elected this November, she and other women might cry. Recall the outpouring of feminine grief at Hillary Clinton headquarters in New York during the wee hours of Election Night 2016, realizing their candidate was going to lose to Trump.

What is it about Trump that enrages so many women? The answer may lie in an inherent contradiction within feminine behavior.

Females, as evolutionary biologists and psychologists such as Edward Dutton, Jonathan Haidt, and Steven Pinker have noted with great insight, are attracted to males who project power, confidence, and responsibility. For the sake of themselves and future offspring, women want a natural leader for a mate.

Yet they also possess an empathetic, egalitarian instinct that favors inclusion over exclusion in a group context. Nobody should feel left out. Those who would withhold prizes or otherwise jeopardize the participants’ emotional “safety” deserve a scolding. And women know how to scold.

The gap is wider on the other side. No wonder no one trusts the mainstream media.

Married women are more evenly split.

Single women make abortion their only criteria for voting.

Indeed. Was it not young women that started and fueled the Salem Witch craze? Why yes, yes it was.

The trials began after a few local women in Salem Village were accused of witchcraft by four young girls, Betty Parris (9), Abigail Williams (11), Ann Putnam Jr. (12), and Elizabeth Hubbard (17).

Married women are more evenly split.

Correct. But our society is changing. There are less married women today than there were eight years ago. So less married women to vote for Trump.

Democrats want serfs so they'll become dependent on the government.

Notice the headline is not:

“Male trouble for the left”.

Actually, Chronicles is a paleo-conservative publication.

Women, as a group, run on feelings and groupthink and fear. The democrats/socialists exploit all of this very well to their advantage.

That's why the U.S. Constitution is not compatible with universal sufferage, unfortunately.

It’s mainly single women who vote for the Left.

“It is an indictment of the feminist movement which is not as much about equal rights as it is about socialism and radical ideas. A couple generations of radical lefts has developed from this movement hidden in the ‘equal rights’ shroud.”

I’m female, and I agree 100%. I’ve SEEN what ‘The Women’s Movement’ has done to my generation. It gave us greater freedoms and opportunities, but it also made us miss out on a lot of the good stuff in life and we’ve left sectors of society in ashes. (The Welfare State, every other kid WITHOUT a Father, lousy immigration policies, etc.) :(

As a woman, I firmly believe you can have it all...you just can’t have it all at once! And there ARE going to be consequences to your voting preferences, Ladies!

“Actually, Chronicles is a paleo-conservative publication.”

Then they need to stop writing lefty headlines.

I agree. Men are usually the producers, and most women, like ALL democrats, lean toward being parasites.

The headline doesn't strike me as lefty.

The author simply wishes to focus on the right's "women problem." Perhaps because, as a conservative, that's the problem he's interested in fixing.

You can’t fix it, if it’s “Abortion Uber Alles” with these woman.

The problem is that every left-wing publication on the planet treats the gender gap issues the same way.

When you follow their lead you are playing their game.

When you play their game you lose.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

I know it’s just hypothetical, but I would gladly give up my right to vote if women weren’t allowed to vote.

There are plenty of stupid men, but unfortunately, stupid seems to infect a higher percentage of women.

“It is all about abortion.”

This is a fact that I think many conservatives do not fully grasp.
Women are angry about the Dobbs decision. Even women who would never get an abortion are angry about Dobbs.

The news stories about women having to flee to blue states for life-saving abortions after the fetus was no longer viable have not helped.

I expect that women remain angry, and Republicans will keep taking a beating, until there is some uniform decision on abortion.

MARRIED women vote like men. SINGLE women vote for “Mr. Government” for their husband - a “husband” who never leaves the toilet seat up and has unlimited cash.
