Summer 2024 is likely to be one of the hottest on record in the United States, according to an updated outlook released Friday by The Weather Company and Atmospheric G2.
The heat will be widespread. Above-average temperatures are expected from the Southwest and Rockies to the East Coast, with parts of the Midwest, Plains, northern New England and the Southwest being the most above average.
"We've run out of superlatives to describe what we expect as an historic summer." - Todd Crawford, Vice President of Meteorology, Atmospheric G2 The lone exception may be the West Coast, from western Washington to Southern California. Temperatures there could be pretty typical for summer as a whole, running slightly above or below average.

My first summer in Houston. I remember it well. 🥵
Of course they've run out of superlatives.
When everything they predict is a superlative, then nothing can be superlative anymore.
:)
More climate cultist BS... A more realistic headline would be “Summer of 2024 may set record temperatures in the 75 or so years we’ve been taking random temperatures. The other 4.5 billion Earth years we have no data on.”
I have been working outdoors since 1982. I hate the heat of summer. I haven’t seen the heat I’ve come to expect over that time in the last three or four years. I have a big air compressor I use every day. Once the ambient temp gets to 93 its automatic thermal shutdown isn’t very far away.at 95 it’s going to happen sooner or later. It has t happened in three or four years. It was a regular feature of summer going back decades.
Oh, noes!!!
Rather than report on actual facts, they report on speculative predictions. “We’ve run out of superlatives to describe what we expect as an historic summer.” -
Oh No, let’s get a recharge on the “superlatives” before it’s too late. In fact CO2 based warming mostly effects higher latitudes (where it is colder) and raises nighttime temperatures (Saudis are fully covered in their garb head to foot when it is 110 outside.) The CO2 mildly slows heat escape at night, doesn’t do as much in the daytime. Nothing to see here.
Yeah, usually we have our first 90 day mid April.
Wow. Crazy weather.
