If he dies in his sleep, Kamala becomes the Prez, and they wont be able to kick her out. If the house won’t vote for her VP. It could get dicey

A designated VP must be confirmed by each House by simple majority. The House Republicans would have to be crazy (I know I know) to vote approval of whoever she might choose. The nation can get along just fine (and did for well more than a century) without a VP for a few months.

The numbers might not be there in the Senate as well.

If Kamala becomes President before the election, presumably the DNC would have a say in who would be the VP on the ballots. Otherwise Kamala will be free to follow Biden’s example and pick someone even worse than herself (as impeachment insurance). If she picks a minority or someone else from the protected class, the Republicans would be afraid to vote against that person...or at least enough of them to get the person approved.
