Two people died and at least six others — including two children — were injured during a shooting at a Juneteenth festival in Texas Saturday night, officials said.
A fight between two groups broke out at around 10:50 p.m. during the Round Rock Juneteenth Celebration.
“During that altercation, someone produced a gun and began to fire,” Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks said. “Multiple victims were hit.”
Two people, who police said were not part of the altercation, were pronounced dead at the scene.
“We do not have a suspect in custody,” Banks added, saying the suspects fled the area
A description of the suspect was not provided.
Four adults and two children were rushed to area hospitals with “potentially serious injuries,” according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
“I would like to thank the police officers and fire department for their quick response. I have no doubt that their actions of rendering aid to the victims saved lives,” Banks said.
“It is unfortunate that we are here celebrating a wonderful event and we have a tragedy that happens.”

“Free at last...!”
Yep, its Juneteenth time, keep tabs on all the celebratory killings.
I doubt it.
Typical.
That’s what the day is about.
They are celebrating Juneteenth from the 13th through the 19th. If this is how they celebrate, perhaps we need to celebrate Juneteenth from June 1st through June 30th instead of celebrating weird pride month.
Black people: Well, we got MLK Jr. day, Kwanza was kind of a bust. What should we do now?
Other black people: Let’s start up a holiday that has no real significance to anybody, and we’ll just make up a word to call it. We’ll celebrate by eating barbeque, listening to rap music, and having shoot outs.
Other black people: Sounds great. We’re in.
Frankly between the two holidays, I’d rather have Juneteenth and the pick a hole month be done away with.
Can't wait to see the stats from Chicago a week from now.
No different than all the shootings at Memorial Day celebrations. Oh…..wait…
As a youth in Houston I learned about this obscure, very minor piece of local trivia that almost no one else knew about except for a few Galveston blacks who might make note of it.
How this nothing local event of no enduring significance or meaning became a National Holiday in the 21st century says a lot, no one can truly explain it or justify it, but it serves a racial political purpose because it involves race and the Civil War.
Just before dying, one said:
“Can we… can we all get along? Can we stop making it horrible for the older people and the kids? “ quoting Rodney King. (/S ————didn’t really say it)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKj4L6GwL5Y
63 people died in the 1992 Rodney King riots:
“A dusk-to-dawn curfew and deployment by the California National Guard, U.S. troops, and federal law enforcement personnel eventually controlled the situation. A total of 63 people died during the riots, including nine shot by police and one by the National Guard.”
What would a celebration be without some gunfire?
For decades City of Detroit residents have shot firearms rounds into the sky to celebrate midnight on New Year’s Eve.
Police and council constantly work to downplay it and to convince people to stop. As with the actual Detroit Riots in July, 1967, “spent rounds” have to go somewhere and sometime hit people and car windshields after their trip in the sky.
Well, even dead, they'll still be able to vote Demonicrat, so the politicians are not worried.
Thought that was Tuesday. Or is it the entire month. Special treatment is NOT equal treatment!
I thought Juneteenth wasn’t until Wed(?). I guess when you don’t work every day is Juneteenth.
I have been celebrating Juneteenth almost my entire life. June 19 is the date we put down the spies Julius and Ethyl Rosenburg.
If the shooters are black and the non-shooting victims are white, this will go down the rabbit hole with the MSM.
Happy Juneteenth?
