... Strategists said Rubio’s background, experience as a legislator and skills as a political candidate would make him a strong candidate to widen the ticket’s appeal.
“I happen to think that he’s the candidate the Biden campaign probably fears the most,” said Florida-based Republican strategist Justin Sayfie. “Of all the people that President Trump can pick to be his running mate, I think that the Biden campaign probably would not like to see Marco Rubio on the ticket.”
Rubio, 53, is among the youngest candidates on Trump’s short list. He was first elected to the Senate in 2010 with support from the Tea Party faction of the GOP after serving almost a decade in the Florida state House. He was seen as a rising star in the party and perhaps the future face of the GOP ahead of his presidential run in 2016.

If he chooses Rubio, the mainstream media will no doubt call it a “historic” candidacy due to him being Hispanic (sarc).
they will look like Mutt and Jeff on stage. :)
The Hill…….LOL, LOL, LOL Trump loves trolling these people
First things first. Who cares who thr Biden campaign fears to see on the ticket. They really should fear seeing Biden on the ticket (if they cared at all about the country).
Secondly, i don’t mind this idea. He’s not MAGA but his ability to recognize that MAGA is a real force and that it can’t just be business as usual is better than the others Repukes. He has made real concessions to the ideas espoused by Trump. Since he’s not ultra MAGA he gives a voice to those for whom Trump is not their first choice. Gives them real skin in the game. He’s a powerful voice hammering Biden on immigration considering his previous willingness to do a pathway to citizenship. He realizes the country is in much worst shape then when he was willing to deal. He gives real stakes to the defense wing of the party and he is a strong and credible critic of Biden on defense. He’s not my first choice to be sure, but I think there is a solid case for him and I wouldn’t be disappointed. From an electability perspective I think he helps with the Mcacainiacs in Az and GA. I also think he helps in VA. Not sure if he helps with the Hispanic or Latino vote but he doesn’t hurt the inroads made.
Whoever it is, you can bet Trumpers will be ok with it, and never trumpers will be besides themselves with anguish and spittle.
Strong case for him. See my previous post. Not my first choice but would be solid. Ben Carson would be good. I think Trump probably instinctively favors Bergum.
I heard Rubio will be chosen so that his empty seat can be filled by Byron Donalds.
I wouldn’t mind Rubio. One thing about him is he’s sharp in front of a camera — very quick on his feet. I think he’d be a good articulator of Trump’s agenda and defender of Trump himself. He’d be like a shrewd defense lawyer out there battling with the media. And being an establishment type would give him some cred. Of course it would have a downside too. It’s all about tradeoffs.
I really just hope Trump makes a good choice and defeats the fraud and cheating democrats for the White House...
He is going to have a lot of work to return the country back to where he had it when he was in office the first time...He needs a VP to stand with him and support him this time around for sure...
Trump isn’t exactly a social conservative. Picking a social liberal like Stefanik (or even Burghum) would be a horrible choice.
Ben Carson would be good as a placeholder. Someone like Sarah Huckabee Sanders or Ron DeSantis would be better looking toward the future.
Whatever happened to the rule that you couldn’t both be from the same State?
He was on Maria's show this morning.
NO TO LIBERAL.
Well except for maybe ill will and grief.
But they would have loved heels up Kamala who has all the same NBC problems. I fear that issue is dead since we had the Kenyan president, unless and until the Supremes weigh in and make still another stupid ruling.
If Trump really needs any help at all, we are already a doomed Republic anyway.
Rubio is Cuban, so I don't know if non-Cuban Hispanics would be especially inclined to vote for him. He isn't the worst of the names that have been thrown out, but he isn't the best choice.
I think this is BS. When he can pick a person who is quality in every way (Carson), why would he go with the Bubble Boy?
If he chooses Rubio I could vote for him, holding my nose.
If it’s Tim Scott, uh uh. That only means PDJT hasn’t learned one damned thing about how to pick people.
“Rubio could help with Hispanic voters”
Trump already is strong with Hispanics. He doesn’t need to pander to them with this twerp.
