NY Bill Requiring Warning Signs at Gun Store Entrances Awaits Gov. Hochul’s Signature

A bill passed by New York’s legislators requiring gun store owners to place a warning sign by the entrance of their businesses now awaits Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D) signature.

WHAM reported the signage is to address the alleged risks associated with owning a firearm.

Ammoland explained the warning sign is supposed to say, “Access to a weapon or firearm in the home significantly increases the risk of suicide, death during domestic disputes, and/or unintentional deaths to children, household members and others. If you or a loved one is experiencing distress and/or depression, call the national suicide prevention lifeline at 988.”

Gun store owner just needs to put up a sign above this one that says;

"The liberal NY government wants you to believe the message below."

Wonder if, in that law, it spells out that you are NOT allowed to put a picture of Hochul on that sign?

I’ve got a catalog from Panther Martin (fishing lures) in Port Jefferson, NY. That warning appears at the bottom of every page.

Staggering, isn't it? The Panther Martin lawyers said "If you are going to sell in California, you need that warning." Then the Panther Martin VP of Marketing said "Just print one catalog. Don't print a California-specific catalog."

And here we are...this shit snuck out of CA into the rest of the country and you get to enjoy the insanity now, too.

As "null and void" wrote, "The signs are so ubiquitous they are no more noticeable than a crack in a sidewalk."

I got in a “fight” with a woman over labeling GMO-containing products in Oregon. She wanted it mandated. I said ”If it’s such a great selling point, those selling non-GMO items can plaster it on their packaging the way the “Glutin-free” folks did.” We don’t talk any more.

I just checked some blister packs from different lures...South Bend, Acme Tackle. Those are both manufactured in China. Both had the Prop 65 warning printed on them.

Maybe it’s Big Ink or Big Printing behind Prop 65. And I’m guessing that ink is known by the State of California to cause cancer.

Big Lawyer is behind it all. “You want to sell anything in CA? Slap that warning on your product!”

Probably the cheap, high-lead Chinese paint on the lures.

Seems to be enamel. Probably not cheap. Some of the UV-enhanced stuff may be dangerous. I know it kills a lot of fish.
