A dangerous, widespread heat wave is predicted to unfold for millions across the Northeast and Midwest next week with AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures even approaching the 100-degree Fahrenheit mark in some cities.

"The increased demand for cooling is going to be a problem here. This could have some impacts on the power grid," AccuWeather Chief Video Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said.

In the Midwest and Northeast, a heat wave is considered to be at least three days with a high temperature of at least 90 degrees, and for some areas, the mercury will exceed that benchmark for most or all of the week.

Is accuweather far left or what? I have seen this story before... The July 1995 Chicago heat wave led to 739 heat-related deaths in Chicago over a period of five days. Most of the victims of the heat wave were elderly poor ...

Some years back in summer I flew to Massachusetts to visit my parents. During my visit the area had a bout of unusually high temps, while the Dallas area cooled off a bit.

The day after I flew home Massachusetts temps settled down to normal, while north Texas heated back up to what we expect. At least this time they can’t blame it on me. ;-)

Believe accuweather acquired the old site www.weatherunderground.com.

Which is/was definitely a globull warming leftie oriented site started by a fag meteorologist who goes where the ...wind...blow. Constant preaching about absolute non-science crap for that agenda- many times called out by real meterologist.

Surprise the Midwest/Plains start getting hot in summer. It helps the wheat crop grow and mature. Dodge City, KS one Ausust back 20 plus years it was !!0 degrees. Huge wheat harvest browned up and brought in that year.

Its called “Summer”. If it weren’t hot they’d be saying “Shocking cold spell threatens crops, May starve thousands”.

Hyperbole is the Left’s stock in trade.

“Approaching 100? APPROACHING 100?” say it ain’t so.... why theeast coast has never, ever, never reached 100 before! Nor has it seen days in the 100’s for weeks on end... oh my! Run for the hills”

Just kidding... sure we have, and survived too! We usually get a week or more over 100, and usually with loads of humidity too, which makes it really miserable, but hey, that is summer!

They’re referring to their “RealFeel” temperature which is a combination of humidity and temperature.

even approaching the 100-degree Fahrenheit mark

LOL. 100 degrees????? OMG, we are going to die!!!

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I remember it being 100 degrees over the summer a number of times when I was a kid. I didn't hear stories of mass deaths. Maybe we were just a crueler society that simply accepted it back then. LOL.
