"Quinn the Eskimo" (The Mighty Quinn) by Bob Dylan (covered by Manfred Mann)

Everybody’s neath the trees
Feeding pigeons on a limb
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here
All the pigeons gonna run to him

‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight.’ I first heard it on old song collection albums on TV, along with ‘Dirty Dancing’ song, plus other famous songs. That and cartoons.

From one of my all-time favorite movies:

Cat Ballou - Nat King Cole and Stubby Kaye

Trivia Note--The two characters are: The Sunrise Kid and Professor Sam the Shade. Original script had Nat King Cole as Sam the Shade. Stubby Kaye did not like the idea of calling a black man, one who was his good friend, by that name. Without telling the director they reversed the names and Stubby Kaye became 'Sam the Shade'.

Nat King Cole was very sick with lung cancer (he died before the movie was released), that and his tight schedule prevented them from doing a second take. The director was essentially forced to take their switch-a-roo

XTC - Love On A Farmboy’s Wages:

Shilling for the fellow who brings the sheep in
Shilling for the fellow who milks the herd
Shilling for the fellow with a wife for keeping
How can we feed love on a farmboy’s wages?

Heart-”The Dog and the Butterfly”. A tune by Nine Inch Nails came to mind, too, but I can’t post it-”bad” language...
