J.D. Vance, Senate Republicans Announce Blockade of Biden Nominees to Protest ‘Radical Lawfare’ Against Trump

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) and Senate Republicans on Thursday announced a hold policy on numerous President Joe Biden nominees in response to the 46th president’s “radical lawfare” against former President Donald Trump and other political opponents.

Vance led an effort alongside Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), and Eric Schmitt (R-MO) to block swift confirmation of roughly four dozen of Biden’s nominees throughout various positions of the government.

This includes judicial nominees, a nominee for deputy undersecretary for the Treasury Department, and a general counsel nominee for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).

Under the blockade, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) would have to waste significant time to confirm the nominees.

The announcement comes as Trump is expected to meet with House and Senate Republicans on Thursday.

The Senate Republicans said in a joint written statement:

In a continuing response to the current administration’s persecution of President Donald Trump, we will not allow the fast-tracking of any Biden Article III court judicial nominees, as well as Biden U.S. attorney nominations. Further, we will not permit the fast-tracking of nominees who have suggested the Trump prosecutions were reasonable, endorsed President Trump’s guilt in these sham proceedings, joined or supported organizations that celebrated the indictment of President Trump, supported the “get-Trump” candidacy of Alvin Bragg, or supported lawfare or censorship in other ways. This complement to the pledge of May 31 will last until Election Day, when the American people will have the opportunity to decisively reject attempts to settle political disputes through the legal system.

While it is not our intent to bring any single nominee into disrepute, if our rights are challengedon the floor of the U.S. Senate, we will prosecute a...

I wasn’t referring to JD. I was referring to Trump.

Trump had 12% of blacks last time. If he gets 25% of blacks this time, that will be NEW VOTERS. He will have plenty of votes to win assuming they don’t steal it again. It really comes down to that.

They are either going to steal it again or Trump is going to win. Period.

I want him to win with the best VP possible behind him.

If you think there are women who wouldn’t vote for Trump and JD BUT WOULD vote for Trump and Sanders, you are really not paying attention. If it was Romney or McCain or Bush and it was 2004 again, maybe it would make a difference but not Trump. The women who are against him are polarized to the extreme. They will make fun of her looks and her beliefs and Christianity, etc... There is no woman VP he could run with that will increase his vote among women.

The same with blacks. Having a black guy on the ticket will do nothing. The ones that don’t like Trump will just call Donalds an “Uncle Tom”. The ones that do like Trump think he is a bad ass. Pandering doesn’t make you look like a badass.

I like Donalds and wouldn’t mind him being the VP pick as an insurance policy against the deepstate taking Trump out but I don’t think he will do as good a job defending Trump in the media as JD will.

“but not Trump. The women who are against him are polarized to the extreme”

##########################

While there are women (and men) who are polarized against him, there are also many women for him. And, like any demographic, there are many in the middle who can be persuaded.

It would be a mistake for Trump to not reach out to the middle. Biden is an embarrassment to anyone with two neurons to rub together. The middle is wide open. There are good conservative candidates who aren’t necessarily white males. This is the perfect time to be “The Big Tent”.

If he picks JDV, the middle is going to say “same old, same old, just two more angry white guys who have no idea what I’m going through”, and Trump will lose by 100 EVs.

The middle will decide this election, and Trump needs to appeal to them.

The times are changing. We no longer have 1/3 Republican, 1/3 Democrat and 1/3 Independent and both sides fight over the middle. People have picked their sides and they aren’t moving unless they are convinced through persuasion that they were wrong.

The younger demographic which is now deciding which side to pick and has always been solidly Dem is wide open....but not by pandering to them.

By reality-maxing.
By being “based”.
By being a gender/race/sex/crime/immigration/culture REALIST. People are yearning for authenticity.

This is where we get more votes. Not from women who can’t decide between the abject failure of Biden and the common sense of Trump. Pro life women will always be for Trump. Pro abortion women will always be against Trump. It wouldn’t matter which woman he picked as VP. THEY WOULD NOT SUPPORT HIM.

First, it’s CNN. Don’t believe a word they say.

Second, the world is just not that black and white. Lots of grey out there.
