Those opposing US and NATO assistance to Ukraine too often pick up dodgy accusations and distort bits of information to make their argument. This lapse of intellectual discipline can lead even good and wise people like Steve Bannon and Archbishop Vigano into bad company, weak reasoning, and name calling that subverts their credibility and can make them sound at times like foaming at the mouth lunatics.

Is Ukraine a perfect country with perfect people? Of course not, and countries at war tolerate bad things, do bad things, and routinely make expedient compromises that contradict their ideals. During WW II and the Cold War, the US did much of what Ukraine is now accused of doing. That is the nature of war, with bad things, lies, and folly abounding.

Have no doubt about it though, Putin and Russia are our enemy, and Ukraine is a useful and worthy ally against them.
