The decision is a bad one. But there are two aspects of it that conservatives can use to their advantage.
1st “In this case, the plaintiffs assert an equal-protection claim (count II), and the parents assert a substantive-due-process claim based on the right to direct the upbringing of their children.”
That does not hold only for matters dealing with whether to seek out so called gender affirming care. It applies to much broader health care issues as well as educational ones. One example would be schools not allowing parents to have their child opt out of certain classes. It also must apply to parents who go against medical recommendations to have their child receive puberty blockers.

2nd.” The State of Florida can regulate as needed but cannot flatly deny transgender individuals safe and effective medical treatment—treatment with medications routinely provided to others with the state’s full approval so long as the purpose is not to support the patient’s transgender identity.”
This is just what happened with alternative treatments for COVID. Safe and effective medications that were routinely prescribed for other ailments and diseases were banned for treating COVID because they did not meet the protocol of certain public institutions such as university hospitals or medical boards.

Please note,”.. the kinds of care at issue are puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. See Fla. Stat. § 456.001(9)(a). This order uses the term “gender-affirming care” to refer only to these two kinds of treatment, not to gender-affirming surgery.”
Which is as it should be but for how long? This decision certainly opens the door for approval of such surgery to be granted in a future court case.

I think the current best hope is for this, or a similar case, to reach the Supreme Court as reshaped by Donald Trump. Roe was around for fifty years and it didn't survive.

If the court is to ignore the evidence presented and rule by his individual opinion, why have a trial at all?

That what they actually do. The trial is often window dressing for what they already decided to do anyway.

Kabuki Theater.

Assuming the judge believes that all such procedures should be legal, he should so rule, regardless of what evidence is presented?

That's what they actually do. The trial is often window dressing for what they already decided to do anyway.

I linked, cited, gave the page number, quoted the order, and underlined the portion stating the order had nothing to do with gender-affirming surgery.

When a response gets too long or requires too much reading, I tend to ignore it. Yes, I might miss a valid point this way, but past experience tends to indicate that this is often not the case, and often certainly not worth the trouble to go through it. BroJoeK comes to mind.

Who do you consult when you have a medical problem, such as chest pains? Wikipedia? Or a doctor? If they are demonstrably wrong on every measure, why would you bother?

Don't take my words out of context. The context is Covid 19. They were wrong about every measure they put forth to fight it.

And regarding my personal experience with doctors, it has been a mixed bag. Many do not bother to perform the actual work necessary to accurately diagnose a problem, and they tend to jump to conclusions and refuse to consider anything but what they already want to believe, more or less like many people I argue with.

My second to last visit to a doctor was of this variety.

Nah, many have jumped on the cash train. It pays well. If the government or insurance pays for it, you may expect more of it. When the recipient has to pay for it, or the doctor has to do it for free, you will see less of it.

For most of my life I dismissed such ideas, but with what I have seen in the last two decades, I am now beginning to regard such ideas with a strange new respect.

Much of government/industry seems to be a money redistribution Ponzi scheme.

The basic problem relates to a famous quip, supposedly from Mark Twain,

"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes."
Lies, mistakes, misunderstandings can often be short and pithy, while the real truth takes a very long time to unpack and explain.

Our FRiend woodpusher is second to none for lengthy responses, which proves that lengthy responses are not a guarantee of accurate understandings. 😉

Of course, there is a simple solution to this -- if you'll just limit your posts to one or two lies per post, you'll make it much easier for anyone who wants to correct you.

It's only when someone fills their posts with endless lies & nonsense that it takes forever to fix them all...

😂

Here's one for you.

"When you ask some men what time it is, they will tell you how to build a clock."
