Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) called Hunter Biden’s conviction on federal gun charges “kinda dumb” in a post on the social platform X, minutes after the verdict was announced.
Hunter Biden — the second-oldest son of President Biden — was convicted Tuesday afternoon on three federal gun charges. The felony charges alleged President Biden’s son lied about his sobriety when obtaining a gun in 2018, and illegally possessed the gun for 11 days.
Hunter Biden’s verdict comes just two weeks after former President Trump was found guilty on all 34 felony counts in his New York hush money trial. Gaetz called the former president’s conviction “the corrupt result of a corrupt trial, a corrupt judge, and a corrupt DA,” in a statement issued immediately following the verdict.

THAT WAS THE FIRST CRIME THAT SAW SERIOUS DAYLIGHT
JOE’s braggadocia was outrageous.
IF they are careless, they can lose their business .
And there we have it. The real crime goes unpunished.
I believe that is true, however, many states, mine included, have now changed that dumb law.
If you are convicted of a felony involving a gun, then gun ownership should be prohibited. A one strike law. Otherwise, once the sentence is completed you should be able to purchase/own a gun.
(with all the serious crimes going unpunished)
...seems going for the low-hanging fruit (no pun intended) is the best "our" Republican "reps." can do when it comes to crimes of "our" opposition.
Ours... lose everything, even go to jail.
Theirs... get community service at a Club Med.
Sounds good on paper, doesn't it?
Unfortunately, that's not the way life is.
Over 60 percent (63.8%) of violent offenders recidivated by being rearrested for a new crime or for a violation of supervision conditions. This compares to less than 40 percent (39.8%) of non-violent offenders who were rearrested during the follow-up period.
If you want the right to purchase a firearm, then don't commit a felony crime......Pretty simple.
