The other day I was at a pool with over 120 people and 3 of them were black. There were not any problems at all and no one was treated any differently.
I did tell my wife, “You have to hand it to them. There is no way I would go to a pool party if these numbers were reversed.”
Another "event" occurred on a Friday night. The first Friday of the month. I arrived at the skating rink. The parking lot was full of security people. After buying my ticket, I went inside. Wall to wall black people. No real room to skate. I exited and was given a "rain check" for another night. I asked the security present why they were present. The answer was "mom's night". The first Friday of the month after the welfare checks come out, the moms drop their kids off at the skating rink. Eeeks! I didn't know or expect that. We had a group of black regulars who were fine skaters. Always a pleasure to be on the floor with them. It's not that way on "mom's night". Lots of beginners packed tight, stumbling, flailing. No thanks.
