As Trudeau May Finally Get the Boot, He Reveals How Liberals Really Feel About Democracy
Red State ^ | 06/10/2024 | Nick Arama

It seems like Canada's very liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been around forever.

It seems longer when you have someone who is so insufferable. He's been in office since 2015, which I guess is a long time when you consider all the harm he's done to the country. If you think people hate Joe Biden, people in Canada may hate Trudeau even more:

He has trailed in polls by double digits for nearly a year, and the outlook for the once popular prime minister is so grim that some old guard Liberals have been grumbling that maybe he should just step down and give someone else a shot.

Pollsters are saying it's over for Trudeau:

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is likely headed to forming a majority government, say pollsters.

Trudeau “has basically tanked with everybody,” according to Greg Lyle, president and founder of the Innovative Research Group. “It’s over for him. There’s no hope with Trudeau.”

In a late April poll, the Conservatives received 41 per cent support, and the governing Liberals got 24 per cent.

Sounds like the same forces we're seeing here and in Europe are also rising in Canada. People are tired of liberal/socialist nonsense. It's not delivering, and it's screwing up the countries. People have had enough.

On top of that, there are now even allegations of treason against some lawmakers for secretly working with foreign governments, and Trudeau was forced by the opposition to expand an inquiry into election interference to cover the treason questions.

There he goes, saying the right is choosing to "instrumentalize anger, fear, division, anxiety." Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. But if you chose the right, it's just because you're choosing to amplify your anger and don't really care about solutions. That's what he's telling Canadians. He's so clueless, you don't woo voters by insulting them. But this explains why he's so far down in the polls.

But no one's buying this kind of nonsense anymore.

The Canadians must love Trudeau. They keep voting for his policies, his leadership, his insidious demeanor and his insufferable idiocy........................

The Golden Triangle votes for the liberals, not the rest of Canada.

Like several states, they are held captive by the large city vote. Illinois, Georgia, Virginia, Washington, Oregon and Nevada, California....................

The People’s party exists to split the vote on the right. It is highly doubtful that really exists to get the government out of people’s lives.

Sometimes these parties need to form and they actually get traction when the Tories become too useless. The "Progressive Conservatives" needed the challenge from the Reform Party/Canadian Alliance and the Canadian Alliance actually came in second and formed the opposition. There was then a merger, and the "conservative" party improved for a while. Sometimes a provincial level party can be useful (and sometimes catastrophic). "The Wild Rose Party of Alberta made some noise for a while. In one critical election, as you point out, votes got split and the NDP took over Alberta! That would be the rough equivalent of a Socialist Party winning Nebraska.

When these parties spring up, it is because of genuine grievances. The Greens are a force, even though they split the left vote. Of course Bloc Quebecoise is its own thing, and during the trucker action, they were thought to be in play.

Canada has a lot of good people, but they took all too well to leftist programming in Toronto ands B.C. Covid exposed a lot of fault lines, as it did here.

What you say is true, but Bernier is Canada’s Romney. I do not believe the people’s party exists for the purpose you believe.

And yet, they will come in with a 115% voting rate.

It’s the multiparty parliamentary system that keeps him there. His party gets enough seats to be a major player and they can then “very left wing” deals with the even more socialist parties on his party’s left. This keeps him in the PM chair.

And there are people on this site think multiparty solutions here are fine idea!

Parliaments are a really bad form of government.

No wonder Europeans love them................

I suspect that neither Brandon nor Brandeau expect that there will be elections this time. Perhaps China will make its move at last?

I had no opinion of the People's Party, and did not know of Bernier. My wife is Canadian (Grande Prairie, AB), so I keep tabs and have surface knowledge of Canadian politics. There bad guys did not seem as sophisticated because they don't have to be to get their way.

"Very few people live up North"

That's not what s/he meant. The intended meeting was "Trudeau will find a way to harvest ballots in Canada".
