CNN has been on life support for decades as its ownership continues to change hands.

It's long been the poor step child to the Warner Brothers motion picture and television production business, which today continues to be a big winner at the US boxoffice with the 2 highest grossing films of 2024: Dune: Part 2 and Godzilla vs. King Kong.

The parent company is now Warner Bros. Discovery, another media/entertainment conglomerate masterminded by tycoon John Malone.  Here's a snippet from a 2023 story on CNN's ownership:

One person who has played a significant role in CNN's ownership history is John Malone.  Malone is a media mogul and cable TV giant who has served on CNN's board of directors since 2018. He has also been involved in various media acquisitions, including the purchase of TCI Cablevision by AT&T in 1998.

The fact that Malone and his team continue to let CNN implode tells us the future of CNN will be similar to that of Newsweak.
