The race to determine who will be Donald Trump’s running mate this November took a major step forward last week with the acceleration of vetting multiple potential candidates, but political insiders with deep knowledge of presidential campaigns say there is one possible name on the former president’s shortlist Democrats “fear” the most.
Trump’s campaign recently entered the next phase of the running mate search by requesting documents from several prospective contenders, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who has grown to be a staunch ally of the former president since running against him in the 2016 Republican presidential primaries.
“Rubio is a familiar face who has become one of the strongest voices in the Senate for the America First agenda, is excellent on TV, and can blast Biden effectively for his failed policies,” one top GOP strategist told Fox News Digital.

Could Ben Carson be any more of a milquetoast? NO THANKS!!
Do ya’ll remember that old photo of young Rubio in a gay pool party in Miami?
J D Vance. End of story
I fear a Rubio pick could inspire conservatives to stay home. He’s part of the problem, not the solution.
LOL. This is a conservative projection on Democrats. No Democrats I know is afraid of Rubio.

Yep, if anything the Dems hope he’ll pick Rubio as Marco would be an undermining influence on Trump.
Ron DeSantis, Kevin Roberts, or Mike Flynn.
DJT needs someone as bold and threatening to the Deep State as he is.
Otherwise, the global cabal will “ eliminate “ him quickly.
Ben Carson has said he’s not interested in running for President.
If he’s VP, he won’t begin campaigning January 21.
No person serving or having served in Congress should be considered as a V.P. candidate to President Trump. They are all compromised one way or the other, having inevitably cut deals or voted with the RATS on horrible legislation, during the time they’ve held office. I don’t want any of them, and won’t vote for any of them if one is chosen. Even though I love President Trump, and support him, I will not vote for a current or former member of Congress as his running mate. I will sit home on Election Day if that happens.
I have always liked Kari Lake. Byron Donalds is a strong candidate. Gov. Abbot has really stepped up on the border issue. Lots of VP pick choices out there.. DAN BONGINO?
NOT RUBIO !
This seems like a dem version of “Don’t throw me in the briar patch”.
Job One is to get Trump elected. I cannot see how Rubio would bring in any undecided swing-state voters.
A likable and smart conservative woman from a swing state, that’s the way to go. Who that is, I don’t know. I’m just the big ideas guy.
I live in Florida, and I am not a Rubio fan for several reasons. Ben Carson does not have the killer instinct. Haley is out of the question. Vivek ... not sold on him yet.
Any list with Rubio or someone from Florida on it is fake or misdirection since Trump cannot pick someone from Florida unless he gives up the state’s electoral votes, which he cannot afford to lose.
Back in April 2015, Rubio announced he wasn't going to run for re-election, and instead announced his run for President. In March of 2016, he suspended his Presidential campaign and announced he was running for re-election in the Senate after all.
Trump is FROM Florida?
There is a place in Trump’s cabinet but no to the VP
Vivek would be great, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I hope he picks Sarah Sanders. She doesn’t show up on many short lists, and I think she’s said she doesn’t want it, but I doubt she would refuse if asked.
Do you have any indication he would win votes there?
