WASHINGTON — Like every other Kentucky Republican on Capitol Hill, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., criticized the New York criminal case that ended in a guilty verdict for former President Donald Trump.
Paul posted on social media, “This verdict will tragically undermine Americans’ confidence in impartial justice. A sad day for America.”
Yet unlike Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and most of the commonwealth’s Republican congressmen, Paul said he has not yet decided whether to endorse Trump.
“I think that it’s important that if he wants to get my vote and my support and wants me to be more active in this, that he’s going to have to be more vocal on things like the lockdowns that I opposed, like the civil liberties abuses that I opposed, like the debt, which frankly, has been bad under Republicans and Democrats, so I’m looking for a little bit more before I make a final decision,” he told Spectrum News Tuesday.
“I’m supportive of Donald Trump, but whether or not I take an active role, endorse and go out and campaign for him is something that’s yet to be determined.”

Pew Newt’s podcast there are 28k people who work in the Pentagon. Old timers who went from typewriters to word processors. One defense secretary was asked how many work there. Answer: Half of them. Newt said make it a triangle.
To think the most important department in the country is run this way.
For once will Rand get off the fence?
Is, choosing Rand Paul as VP, the difference for you between voting for Trump and not voting for him?
This is just another example of why Rand would be a terrible and a terribly ineffective President if he ever became one. He doesn’t believe in allies, which is fine in principle if all you’re interested in doing is trying to make a point. It’s not fine if you want to actually get things done. Those who want Trump to pick Rand is VP should consider that (along with the fact that a guy who’s unwilling to endorse you this late in the game is a lousy choice for VP).

VPs are not supposed to be “effective”, they are supposed to deter coups. The current VP is excellent at detering coups. Nobody, on any side, wants to turn the Presidency over to her. Even the Grim Reaper himself winces at the very thought of collecting the over ripe FJB.
Having an ineffective VP waiting in the wings won’t deter a coup. Now I’m not saying Rand Paul is incompetent like our current VP - on the contrary. But that doesn’t mean he would be an effective President. One can be ineffective for reasons other than stupidity, and the Uniparty would be happy to replace a President Trump with a President Rand Paul if they could.
Rand has few friends in Congress and is a poor leader. He likes to go it alone, which is fine if your goal is to be a gadfly. But a President is not a king. He has to work with others to get things accomplished. Why would anyone believe Rand Paul would be effective at taming the Republican Establishment and creating a working, MAGA-centered coalition? The Uniparty has nothing to fear from a President Rand Paul.
So you’d still vote for Trump but less enthusiastically. That’s a poor reason to choose him as a running mate, and I assume your attitude is representative of most who would like to see Trump pick him. In other words choosing Rand Paul for VP does little, if anything, to gain new votes.
Always just too cool for school aren’t you Rand? On this one I think you should have stepped up and left your marker.
I agree about Florida. I had never seen such lopsided support for one candidate over another, where I live in Florida. The yard signs were probably 20-1 in favor of Romney, and there were a lot of them in terms of shear numbers. Granted, other sections of the state differed from my area, but I was convinced at the time that Roney won Florida and I haven’t seen much to convince me otherwise, since.
I wouldn’t try to convince PJDT of anything but to fear God.
