Lake “Superior”. Phfffht! It thinks it’s better than all the other lakes!

That's because it is. I remember a billboard on I-494 in Minneapolis, with a photo from the shore overlooking Lake Superior, and the caption "Fire Your Therapist."

You haven't lived till you've been on the shore of Superior with a bad storm blowing in huge waves. Absolutely mesmerising.

MICHIPICOTEN is underway making about 8 knots, heading to port at Thunder Bay. Canadian Coast Guard vessel Cape CHAILLON close aboard.

I learned it when MV Dali allided with the Key Bridge in Baltimore. Last month my wife allided with a tree when she was backing the car up.

BTW, the Edmund Fitzgerald was so long, if it could be stood upright on its end intact, where it lies in Lake Superior, nearly half would be sticking up out of the water.

Same was true of the Russian submarine Kursk. Amazing how little distance under water can be so difficult.

Is the 'Witch of November' on vacation from Lansing and swimming near Isle Royale?

Taconite, once refined, makes excellent tacos. High in iron.

Ah. Few people are aware of the correct vernacular for these Superior lake people.
