Earthquakes or Hurricanes... What a conundrum.
Just a matter of time for both LA and the Bay Area. I was living in Woodland Hills fresh out of college when the Northridge earthquake hit. Scary, and the inevitable Big One will make that look like a sneeze.
A 3 does not rate a what was that.
I remember growing up in the OC back in the day and the OC Register had a section dedicated to the chance of the Newport-Inglewood fault earthquake and they claimed that a 6.5 on the NI fault would be as devastating as an 8 on the San Andreas fault.
How true that is I don’t know but a big coastal quake can cause liquifaction.
I remember the Whittier Narrows quake in 1987. We were living in Lakewood at the time & it felt like the big one even though it was only 5.5. Then I went through the 2 quakes in Landers in 1992. I had just finished telling my kids that there wasn’t going to be another one for a long time. Then the second one hit a few hours later.
Just need one 10.0 and we’re good.
3.6? In LA, you just say, ‘Earthquake.’ Well, I did, shortly after I moved there. My husband experienced a big one, maybe ‘70’s.
Thanks for posting.
Yeah! Come on down. Lots of swampland here, flood zones, wood spiders you can hear running across the wall, flying cockroaches, alligators waiting for your pooch or you on your walk, rattlesnakes, 20’ anacondas, lots of mosquitoes for all, traffic, traffic, traffic especially in the winter when the Northerners can’t stand the NE winters.
All they need is a trailer park.
Come on down, get a nice place on the beach, sun, swim, eat, relax and then go home. Great time. All will be well. Trust me. ;-)
And The Villages? There’s Century Village in Boca and Coral Ridge Towers in Ft. Lauderdale. How can one go wrong?
a 3 does not even do that, but cute gif i love it
