Biden Uses D-Day 80th Anniversary Speech to Attack Putin, Defend Democracy
Breitbart ^ | 06/06/2024 | JOEL B. POLLAK

President Joe Biden used his speech at commemorations of the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France, to attack Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “tyrant,” and to urge the world to “save democracy in our time.”

The latter statement evoked Biden’s rhetoric on the campaign trail, where he has cast former President Donald Trump as an enemy of democracy. (Trump spoke at the 75th anniversary of D-Day in 2019 in a widely-hailed speech.)

In his remarks on Russia, Biden hailed the example of the Allies in the Second World War — neglecting to mention that Soviet Russia was a key ally in the fight against the Axis powers — and saying that NATO continued that effort.

Without naming him, he also attacked Trump. Half of the speech was a campaign speech on foreign soil.

Liberals like Biden politicize and ruin everything, they can’t help themselves.

This day should be sacred, meant to honor the greatest generation and their accomplishments, it’s not a time to score political points, it cheapens the dignity of their sacrific.

On June 6, 1944, the Russians were our allies, they paid a huge price in defeating Nazi Germany, criticize Russia all you want, just do it on some other day besides today.

Not surprised. The miserable little hemorrhoid is the center of his own universe and is in constant campaign mode. Disgraceful slime.

Biden is more of a threat to our Republic than Putin, of whom Obama/Biden has needlessly turned into our enemy.

Imagine. Those brave men gave their lives only to wind up seeing their own nations being destroyed by the likes of Joe Biden, whose regime increasingly resembles those regimes they were fighting against.

And btw, Joe, I missed the war declaration against Russia. Is it in your pocket?

And Roosevelt was pretty cozy with Stalin much to the dislike of Churchill

They wouldn’t have had to had they not become allies with Hitler in 1939. All because Stalin wanted his revenge on Poland.

you would think that by now biden would know that these United States of America are a REPUBLIC. pure democracy is a polical system that allows 51% of the people to dictate the terms of life to the other 49%. it’s 3 men and 2 women on a deserted island deciding on who, when, where and how. it’s two wolves and a chicken deciding what’s for dinner. it’s a majority of YOUR community deciding “we don’t need no steenking cops” while telling the minority that they will all be safer. yeah....democracy.

The percentage of German troops that were fighting the Russians was well more than half. I recollect 80% at one time.

True, but on this day, I’m not interested in all of that, I’m watching all the coverage today, it’s a shame a demented fool of a POTUS is throwing politics into a day that should be all about the greatest generation, like I said, be critical of Russia all you want, just do it on another day.

Not critical of Russia at all. They bled the Wehrmacht white before the western allies ever stepped foot back in Europe

I understand all that, I’m trying to make the point that Biden along with other liberals today are injecting politics into a day that should be totally devoted to the greatest generation.

By comparing what happened on June 6, 1944, by bringing Russia into the equation as an enemy today and as a country that should be opposed, much like what happened 80 years ago is wrong IMO.

Ukraine and their war with Russia being brought into the celebration of D-day is an abomination.

I hear Zelensky is in Normandy today, he should be nowhere near that place.

Democracy is simply mob rule. The Democratic Party behaves as a Mob.
