A Spirit Airlines passenger managed to track down her stolen luggage after it vanished when she arrived at a Florida airport — using one of the stolen items to aid in her desperate search.
Paola Garcia had been waiting for her small pink hardshell luggage, containing several Apple products like her personal MacBook and two Apple Watches, at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s carousel after returning home to the Sunshine State, Local 10 reported.
The exact timing of the incident remains unclear, but Garcia’s desperation to find her stolen property led her to the apparent culprit’s house even before local cops.
Garcia told the outlet she always carried on her luggage without issue, but this time, Spirit Airlines employees made her check the bag before she departed from New York.
She panicked as she watched others grab their bags from the carousel, and her luggage didn’t appear.
“In my mind, I’m thinking I need my computer because I go to the university, I need my computer no matter what,” Garcia told the outlet.
Garcia said she waited “at least two hours” before giving up hope that her luggage would arrive on the conveyor belt.
Spirit Airlines employees told Garcia not to worry and that her luggage would be sent to her house, she told the outlet.
The next day, she began receiving a ping from one of her Apple Watches — except it wasn’t coming from the airport but 15 minutes away at a Fort Lauderdale home.
It was the home of Junior Bazile, who worked in the retail store Paradies Shops at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Local 10.
Determined to get her belongings back, she went to the home, found her suitcase and her things, and immediately called 911.

All I can say about his socialization is that a lot of it has to do with where he is in his FIV. If he’s in a relapse, I can probably expect all the progress to go out the window until he’s in remission again, and then we can start over.
That’s OK. I was thinking today, as I was making the bed, that I wasn’t really ready for a kitty when I got him. What I didn’t realize was that he needed me, because I have a similar disease, and I understand about relapses and remissions.
So I got the cat who needed me at the right time for both of us.
Or something like that!

We lost another FReeper, Brad’s Grandma this time.
The perfect floof!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night!
I did NOT want to get up. I think, if I hadn’t HAD to get up, I could have gone back to sleep for another hour.
I fixed another “supper” for Chip before I went to bed last night, and when I got up to bring my dishes out after supper, I found that he ate his wet food again. That would make it a full can of food for yesterday. When I came out this morning, his dry food was almost gone. I don’t know how long that will last as he is often off his feed, but we’ll see.
I’ll have his food out and ready to serve in a little while. I have to have a shower and get dressed.
It sounds like he eats as much as he wants when he wants it.
I could have slept longer, too.
Yeah, if he’s in a relapse, he loses his appetite, so sometimes, he ignores his food completely. Other times, he’ll eat about half his wet food and make little piles of his dry food. Yesterday was the first time he ate an entire can of wet food as well as ate about a dish and a half of dry.
He’s learned how to eat very gracefully without his front teeth!
Now, I’m going to shower!
There is a big ol’ trench digger out in back. The treads are squeaking up a storm. I’m sure it has to do with the excavation that was going on for the last six months, but I have yest to find out what they’re digging.
This time, they’re squirting water on it. I wanted to keep the doors open for a while but I think that going to be a losing battle.
Well, someday you’ll learn what it was all about. Or not.
I’m just tired of the dust in the middle of the town!
My sweet little vocal kitty, who acted like he was “starvin’ a DEAF” yesterday, has been out to use the facilities with not even a glance at me, and went back to his tent.
Poor baby. I’ll just watch and wait.
He still knows you care!
Indeed, he does. And he’ll always know that!
Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
The City had Juneteenth off. We drove to the wildlands to spend a few days here while B-I-L is with his family. I’ll be working without the big monitor today. Hopefully I can get used to it.
The liver panel was excellent news for the Princess. We can stop giving her the medicine to chelate the copper and start weaning her off the steroid. If things are still good after her next check we can go to less frequent monitoring. And she hasn’t had a seizure in a long time. I’m wondering if excess copper in her system messed with the electrical signals to the brain.
So now it’s off to owrk. I had a really good Wordle yesterday followed by a poor one today. I’ll post both just to feel better about myself.

Good morning. I hope you had a good night.
Happy Friday Eve!
The Not-So-Invisible cat decided to have breakfast with me this morning. He started to come out yesterday afternoon, when I was here in the kitchen, watching as the light over the sink was finally installed, but then realized there was not only a strange woman in here with me, but that there was a man in here as well!
They checked my front window blind and found that it was one of those that needed to be lifted and lowered by touch, but that has to be done from the center of the blind because it’s so HUGH. Really long.
So they’re going to order one with string pulls for me so I can lift and lower them from the end of the sofa. Or, maybe a better idea is just to wait until I get can rid of the big ol’ honkin’ sofa and either get a smaller one or get two or three soft chairs, like recliners. I think I like that option better.
Chip is eating much better now, but I’ll have to wait to see how long that will last. There is always the ever-present possibility of a relapse, so all I can do is feed him twice a day until he begins to leave his food.
Happy Summer Solstice!
Great news about the Princess Dog! I was hoping for good news, but I certainly didn’t expect this. Excellent!
That’s excellent news about your dog. Happy solstice and almost full moon!
Good morning. All fine here, and I’m glad you had company for breakfast. I need to get the bros moving, unless they’re dead again.
Crack that whip! Sing a joyful song! And roust the Yutes outta bed!
Great news about Princess, hopefully she is feeling better as well!
Fortunately for us, the bulk of the moisture stayed well to our south, we got less than 1/4” that drizzled down most of the day... current 10 day outlook shows a lot of sunshine! 🤞🏻
Decent 3 yesterday, back to so-so today...
