A Spirit Airlines passenger managed to track down her stolen luggage after it vanished when she arrived at a Florida airport — using one of the stolen items to aid in her desperate search.
Paola Garcia had been waiting for her small pink hardshell luggage, containing several Apple products like her personal MacBook and two Apple Watches, at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s carousel after returning home to the Sunshine State, Local 10 reported.
The exact timing of the incident remains unclear, but Garcia’s desperation to find her stolen property led her to the apparent culprit’s house even before local cops.
Garcia told the outlet she always carried on her luggage without issue, but this time, Spirit Airlines employees made her check the bag before she departed from New York.
She panicked as she watched others grab their bags from the carousel, and her luggage didn’t appear.
“In my mind, I’m thinking I need my computer because I go to the university, I need my computer no matter what,” Garcia told the outlet.
Garcia said she waited “at least two hours” before giving up hope that her luggage would arrive on the conveyor belt.
Spirit Airlines employees told Garcia not to worry and that her luggage would be sent to her house, she told the outlet.
The next day, she began receiving a ping from one of her Apple Watches — except it wasn’t coming from the airport but 15 minutes away at a Fort Lauderdale home.
It was the home of Junior Bazile, who worked in the retail store Paradies Shops at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Local 10.
Determined to get her belongings back, she went to the home, found her suitcase and her things, and immediately called 911.

Good Friday Morning!
Another week that has rushed right past... along with a month as well...
Our daughter is bringing up the eldest granddaughter to see F-I-L before it is too late... we suspect that he won’t recognize either of them... 🤷🏽♂️
Amazingly, we both made the same guess....

Fishing with Dad yesterday. He caught 3 suckers and had a small bass steal his bait 4 times in a row.
I caught decent sized bass from the same spot... Then, when moving to a new spot further downriver, we hit a submerged rock and had to use the trolling motor to get us back to a landing.
Still, had a couple of good size fillets that we my dinner last night...

The “?” is full of ways to push stuff off of counters...
I thought murder was a nice touch.
Spirit Airlines shares plunge on report of potential bankruptcy filing
I thought the whole thing was hysterically correct! Thanks for posting it! It made my Friday!
I think the “murder” part should be bigger.
Very true!
🤣
What an adorable photo!
Good morning. Did you sleep well, with no Interruptions By Jake?
I got a lot of stuff done yesterday, but you’d never know to look around.
I’ve decided that all Chip has to do is walk across the rug and little tufts of his hair come out. “Fine as goofer feathers!” as my mother would say!
Do you have anything fun planned for today? How are Kathleen’s riding lessons going? Are Anoretha and Dion settling in?
Sorry to bombard you, but you have spoken of them on the thread, lately.
Hi, we’re all fine. We volunteered at a nature event put on by Matthews Parks, “Kids in Nature”. We had a booth of animal pelts and skulls and things, and another with forestry stuff. Very warm today, but we had a good time. DP was photographing the event for the organizers.
I haven’t heard from Anoreth and Dion since I mailed her birth certificate. Sally said they were here for a wedding a couple of weeks ago and borrowed a car from her: they both had PA provisional licenses and couldn’t rent a car.
I’m going to take some pills for my foot and lie down once DP is out of the shower.
That sounds like a fun day, all things considered!
I guess if I had to move somewhere safer, it would be in PA, as it seems the restrictions are much more conducive to those who move there legally, no matter which country they come from.
This is Conference Weekend, so I’ve been enjoying uplifting talks. There are two more hours this afternoon, and two this evening, but I don’t have the TV in the bedroom hooked up, yet. Not necessarily an oversight, but September was the wrong month for my bank card to go walkabout and my ID to join it. Everything else was driven from my brain that wasn’t tied to getting things back to “normal.”
Hopefully, by Christmas, I’ll be able to focus, and will be able to get it done, then. That will be nice.
I hope your nap was refreshing!
I woke up to find Tom and his laundry have arrived. I think DP is grilling something, but I’m not hungry. We went to Arby’s about 2:00 after clearing up from the event.
Pennsylvania is cold and snowy.
I got a card from Elen in Oregon today.
How does Elen in Oregon like the climate? Quite a change from sunny CA!
I know PA is cold. We were stationed there one winter. Cold thoughts about that place!
The second session had a children’s choir, and they were like miniature angels, in white dresses or white tops and dark skirts or slacks. They sang two songs, both of which brought tears to my eyes, and though I can’t recall the name of the first one, the second was “Gethsemane” which I bawl over every time it’s sung by miniature angels.
Anyway, they sang one more to close out the talks, but Joze Texiera spoke, and he has almost perfect pronunciation on the English language, now. However, Ulisses Soares was the last speaker, and he still has a very pronounced accent that I’m sure you would find adorable!
Tomorrow is another day, but I’ll be able to catch the talks for the next session by tomorrow morning. And they will be out in printed form, too, so there will be lots of ways to catch up.
So, I hope you have a good evening, and I’ll see you in the morning!
She likes it so far. I get postcards from sites she’s visited.
Glad you enjoyed your uplifting talks, and I hope you have a good night. I’m sure I’d be crazy about the accents.
What a gorgeous pair!
Good morning. I hope you slept well.
I’ll see if the choir or any of the talks are on YouTube, yet and pick out one or two with gorgeous accents. There were two Brits and several from Brazil/Portugal and one or two from The Republic of Congo.
It’s always a fun time of year. I wonder if they will post the children singing. But I doubt it. They don’t post the entire conference any more, just the talks.
I’ve been talking in my sleep a lot, lately, and I have no idea why. It used to be common, but then I quit for a lot of years. Needless to say, it was a restless night.
Good morning, and not bad. It was almost 6:00 when I got up, and Jake told me that was unacceptable. I made sure he had food before I went to bed!
