Spirit Airlines flyer tracks down her stolen luggage to airport employee’s Florida house with her pinging Apple Watch

A Spirit Airlines passenger managed to track down her stolen luggage after it vanished when she arrived at a Florida airport — using one of the stolen items to aid in her desperate search.

Paola Garcia had been waiting for her small pink hardshell luggage, containing several Apple products like her personal MacBook and two Apple Watches, at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s carousel after returning home to the Sunshine State, Local 10 reported.

The exact timing of the incident remains unclear, but Garcia’s desperation to find her stolen property led her to the apparent culprit’s house even before local cops.

Garcia told the outlet she always carried on her luggage without issue, but this time, Spirit Airlines employees made her check the bag before she departed from New York.

She panicked as she watched others grab their bags from the carousel, and her luggage didn’t appear.

“In my mind, I’m thinking I need my computer because I go to the university, I need my computer no matter what,” Garcia told the outlet.

Garcia said she waited “at least two hours” before giving up hope that her luggage would arrive on the conveyor belt.

Spirit Airlines employees told Garcia not to worry and that her luggage would be sent to her house, she told the outlet.

The next day, she began receiving a ping from one of her Apple Watches — except it wasn’t coming from the airport but 15 minutes away at a Fort Lauderdale home.

It was the home of Junior Bazile, who worked in the retail store Paradies Shops at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Local 10.

Determined to get her belongings back, she went to the home, found her suitcase and her things, and immediately called 911.

Good Morning and Happy Trash Day (for those celebrating)!

Seems that the memory care home tried some new prescriptions for F-I-L that have finally calmed him down... at least some...

I knew that the Wordle streak would end soon, and so it did...

Oh. My. Wow. What a handsome kitty!

Good morning. I hope you slept well.

Happy October Oneth! Boy, what a weird feeling, to know the year is almost over with. Crikey. Who knew time could fly so quickly? With heat and sunshine for most of it!

Nothing is planned for today but folding and putting away the Unmentionables. I had sort of a voice a little while ago, but I don’t know how long it will last. Maybe there is hope that I won’t whisper forever!

We did the lockup part. And we got well recommended caregivers. But I guess you can’t be too careful.

We have mom in home hospice care simply because we don’t trust anyone else to understand her quirks.

Good morning.

You did mention possibly letting one of the caregivers go and I’m glad you did because as Ben might have said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of regret.”

I’m sure, when you find the right caregivers, there won’t be any waiting for the other shoe to drop. If it was looking like elder abuse was in the future, it probably was. Good for you and Mrs ArGee!

That particular caregiver may be axed from every company she works for if word gets around. And if it were me, I’d make sure word got around. The only references I’d give are bad ones. But that’s just me.

Hoping that it works out well for you all... I suspect that you have a much larger pool of potential caregivers to pick from, and that the odds of finding honest ones is much greater... we were hoping to find someone related to family friends that was qualified for such tasks, and not gainfully employed at the time...

Good morning. We just got back from an Envirothon field trip, and now I need to take a shower and go to Walmart before it’s time to go to Kathleen’s art class.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an Envirothon field. I hope it was interesting.

I was in Beaufort when Hugo hit North Charleston. Saw the mess afterwards...

Wish I was in a place where I could help with efforts out East...

Great image.
I’m currently reading Soseki Natsume’s ‘I am a Cat’, that picture describes the attitude of the Cat perfectly.

Sweet!

Good morning. I hope you slept well.

I got up to find Chip on the sofa! So the pet blankets work! He jumped down immediately, of course, but I just told him it was OK hoping he understands human, by now.

I woke up about an hour ago, and when I tried to go back to sleep I had visions of the MRI in AR. *shudder* It was just a reminder that Imaging hasn’t called me, yet, so I need to call them.

It’s going to be 98° today again, and I’m loving the heat. Right now, it’s 70° but that’s still too warm to open the doors. All it would do is invite mosquitos.
