A Spirit Airlines passenger managed to track down her stolen luggage after it vanished when she arrived at a Florida airport — using one of the stolen items to aid in her desperate search.
Paola Garcia had been waiting for her small pink hardshell luggage, containing several Apple products like her personal MacBook and two Apple Watches, at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s carousel after returning home to the Sunshine State, Local 10 reported.
The exact timing of the incident remains unclear, but Garcia’s desperation to find her stolen property led her to the apparent culprit’s house even before local cops.
Garcia told the outlet she always carried on her luggage without issue, but this time, Spirit Airlines employees made her check the bag before she departed from New York.
She panicked as she watched others grab their bags from the carousel, and her luggage didn’t appear.
“In my mind, I’m thinking I need my computer because I go to the university, I need my computer no matter what,” Garcia told the outlet.
Garcia said she waited “at least two hours” before giving up hope that her luggage would arrive on the conveyor belt.
Spirit Airlines employees told Garcia not to worry and that her luggage would be sent to her house, she told the outlet.
The next day, she began receiving a ping from one of her Apple Watches — except it wasn’t coming from the airport but 15 minutes away at a Fort Lauderdale home.
It was the home of Junior Bazile, who worked in the retail store Paradies Shops at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Local 10.
Determined to get her belongings back, she went to the home, found her suitcase and her things, and immediately called 911.

Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
Once again we had cool weather this morning. It is foreguessed to be warmer today than yesterday, however, with more seasonal temperatures on the weekend.
F-I-L had some sort of trouble with his computer yesterday. He had a screen I’d never seen before and couldn’t exit. I had to force his computer’s power off and restart it. He also seems to have locked himself out of his bank so Mrs. ArGee will have to call this morning to get him unlocked.
Today’s Wordle was pretty normal.

ArGee mentioned Wordle golf the other day... think of it as a way to track your scores over 18 days... we noticed that most of us have 4 as our most common score, or our "par" score... if you look at most golf courses, the par is 72 (which is exactly 18 x 4)...
so we started picking a golf course and tracking our scores against the holes as a way of making the daily Wordle more interesting... Here is our last scorecard:
Good Morning!
Today is our last foreguessed triple digit day (101°), we didn’t make it yesterday (99.1°) so we will see...
(It seems amazing that F-I-L is able to use online banking at all at this point...)
Better on the Wordle front today...

He doesn't anymore, really. It's just one of those things on his list. He opens the transaction list, prints it for "his wife to go over" (which she doesn't really do), and he's done. But every x logins the bank sends him a text for a value to enter. If he enters the wrong one (and that's easy for him to do) 3 times he gets locked out.
How DO dragons blow out candles? Darks, do you know?
on the inhale, silly.
Ahh, I see.... sounds safe enough.... 🤞🏼
I hope you have a pleasant day. It’s just weather, after all.
Of course. Which means, “Of course, but I was never going to think of it.”
You as well!
I actually enjoy following the weather closely.. a bit of a hobby…
And the heat never bothers me, I do find excessive humidity annoying though…. But I am fortunate that I have more than enough to keep me occupied within the air conditioned spaces…. and a dip in the pool is very refreshing… even with the water being on the “warm” side…. 😂
I guess that would be the only way, but I’m not sure how you direct the low pressure intake the same way as the high pressure outflow.
If you were a dragon, you would think easy as breathing!
I think it is the long neck and long face, makes a natural venturi.
What do you mean, “if”?
So sorry. My avatar got hold of the keyboard. Ignore the previous post.
Works similar to how a block of C4 detonating can put out oil well fires.
Hi, all!
I’m just checking in to let you all know that I’m home and Chip actually came out to greet me, but he was having trouble with all the different human smells attached to my clothes. His mouth was twitching in the chittery way they do when they aren’t sure.
Tomorrow, I’ll try to tell you as much as I can remember of the trip, although you may get it in installments. Being without a laptop when I travel is horrible. It makes me discombobulated.
Anyway, I’m safe, I came home loaded with souvenirs, and I had to sort pills before I could even go to bed. I only did enough for tonight, though, because I just can’t stand up any more.
See all y’all tomorrow!
I’m glad you got a welcome home, and we’ll see you tomorrow.
Thanks!
I think I’m finally wound down enough that I might be able to sleep. It’s been a long emotional week, and today was no improvement. However. Viewed from the perspective of time, it will become the vacation of a lifetime. ;o]
