In informal logic there is something called "The Genetic Fallacy". Have you heard of it?

It sounds like some genetic deficiency affecting clowns, such as yourself, on the internet.

It actually a class of fallacy of irrelevance where one focuses on the origin of a claim when it is not a relevant as the actual merits of the claim itself that can be judged without considering the origins.

For example say somebody wants to avoid defending an undefendable position in a discussion. They could say: "Well Amnesty International says..." instead of addressing the point they can't otherwise deal with.
