The PA is too corrupt to control Gaza.
It is probably the best Isreali govt can do at this point. They have actually had a fairly peaceful run since 2006 in their areas. Maybe it was simply due to the loss of Gaza to Hamas and Iran.... Maybe Abbas is simply too old to want to die killing Jews.
