Israel begrudgingly accepts Biden’s Gaza deal: ‘Not a good plan’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government begrudgingly accepted President Biden's plan for a cease-fire in Gaza on Sunday.

Biden had issued the plan on Friday, and Netanyahu initially responded with dismissal. Hamas has indicated it favors the plan, though no formal agreement has been made.

Ophir Falk, chief foreign policy advisor to Netanyahu described Biden's plan in an interview with the U.K.'s Sunday Times, saying it was "a deal we agreed to — it's not a good deal but we dearly want the hostages released, all of them."

"There are a lot of details to be worked out," he said, adding that Israel remains committed to "the release of the hostages and the destruction of Hamas as a genocidal terrorist organization."

The sooner the Jews accept that this is either their last stand - or precipice to victory, depending on one’s stance - the better for those who survive.

Maybe Bibi will have to declare martial law.

Hamas will be almost completely eradicated, particularly their capacity to make war, and the smuggling tunnels will be destroyed.

Then they will build the tunnels again. And we will give them the materials they need.

Nowhere I’ve seen alludes to comments I’ve made here prior:

10/7 was intended to enhance divisions within the Israeli leadership, as well as undermine their support internationally. On both bases, 10/7 was an unmitigated success (at least currently, provided that Israel has both the logistics and the intestinal fortitude to stomp on their domestic enemies to eradicate hamas).

For years we’ve all been glossing over the stone, cold facts of the matter which outline as great an internal struggle within Israel as is occurring here in the US.

Thus, if Israel falls so, too, does the US.

The fact that the zero cabal is hellbent upon propping up hamas is a harbinger of what’s to come, particularly if we fail to eject said cabal from the executive this Fall.

IMHO

Right now I have to say that it was a strategic victory for Hamas. Right now, Israel should be saying that Gaza will remain under the governance of Israel. But they're not saying that. Maybe down the road, Israel can appoint a warlord to rule Gaza with an iron fist. But they're not at that point yet.

Buying time until Hamas can regroup and acquire a nuke or for Iran to use one against Israel.

Except we give money to Iran ..and they use it to attack Israel via ham ass.

So?

We give money to almost 100 countries, to serve our interests as we see them. What they do with the money would in many cases not meet with popular approval here, but, as you know, the US is not a democracy but a representative republic with foreign relations assigned to a Chief Executive and his government.

Our relations with Iran are bad, our government wants them to be better.

This may well be unwise, but there are many factors to consider, and the situation between Iran and Israel is only one of them.

I think Bibi did this because of the NY “verdict”. From where he sits it looks like he is stuck with Biden now.

The Israeli Left is possible the worst in the world. Next to ours.

His point was that a lot of them are the same people.

What are the concessions that Hamas will agree to? I see only concessions by Israel.

Maybe he sees the writing on the wall, that Biden might end up being reelected after all so he has to start licking Biden’s decrepit ass..BiBi is facing the same crap that Trump is facing here..BiBi is despised by the left in Israel and the media in Israel all hate him, they hate him like the media here hates Trump, so maybe BiBi is watching what is happening here and saying “Damn thats my future”

The sooner the Jews accept that this is either their last stand - or precipice to victory, depending on one’s stance - the better for those who survive.

A lot depends on whether you believe the Israeli will to victory is rising or fading.

In 1967 the enemy targets were air bases. In 2023, it was a drug fueled all night rave.

Israel is not what it was in 1967. The results in Gaza suggest that they may be past peak martial virtue, which would not be surprising when you consider who the colonels and generals of 1967 were and what their teens and twenties in Europe were like.

Most of the "what is to be done" coming out of Israel consists of things that will never happen, like a "two state solution" or security imposed by "the West", or "the international community", or the "rules based order", all of which means the US military.

In order for Israelis to envision either their "last stand" or "victory", you had better count out those who hold US citizenship or who own property in the US. Those people know they have options. How many "Israel only" people are of fighting age and are not overcome by leftist peacenik thinking will determine the final act in theis 75-year long war.

I have no doubt the “verdict” in NY is to blame for this. From Israel it must look like Trump is doomed

It will be rather difficult to pressure Israel into “negotiating,” since
Israel has US munitions and weaponry to destroy Hamas entirely on its own.

Reference Biden’s 2023 US arms handout to Israel immediately after the Oct 7, 2023 attack:
<><>57,000 155mm artillery shells
<><>more than 5,000 Mk82 unguided or “dumb” bombs,
<><>more than 5,400 Mk84 2,000 pound warhead bombs,
<><>around 1,000 GBU-39 small diameter bombs,
<><>approximately 3,000 JDAMs, which turn unguided bombs into guided “smart” bombs,
<><>BLU-109 bunker busters w/ 2,000 pound warheads designed to penetrate concrete shelters.

On March 30, 2024 Joe Biden secretly authorized billions of dollars in new bombs and fighter jets for Israel, despite US officials publicly expressing worry over mounting Palestinian death toll in Tel Aviv’s brutal war on besieged Gaza.

The arms approved this week by the US president include deadly 1,800 MK84 2,000-pound bombs and 500 MK82 500-pound bombs, anonymous State and Defense Department officials told the Washington Post.

The State Department last week approved the transfer of 25 F-35A fighter jets and engines, a US official added. The planes and engines are estimated to be worth around $2.5 billion.

There are no corresponding announcements on the Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s website where such notifications are normally posted.

On Friday, Senator Bernie Sanders criticised Biden administration’s approval of sending more weapons to Israel. “The US cannot beg Netanyahu to stop bombing civilians one day and the next send him thousands more 2,000 lb. bombs that can level entire city blocks. This is obscene,” Sanders said on X, sharing the report of Washington Post. “We must end our complicity: No more bombs to Israel,” Sanders reiterated.

Biden also recently gave Israel an extra $billion tax dollars but its not clear why.....seems like Biden cant help himself from putting America last.

“a lot of details to be worked out...” ahem. i give this 10% chance especially with the chance of 2 members of gov’t threatening to leave the coalition. but it gives Joe a little short-term face-saver - and wastes more time - like we did from Ramadan until a few weeks ago.
