I like your hot dog “recipe”; it sounds delicious. (I’ve never used an air fryer. Might have to get one.)

I guess millions do every day and probably are not dropping dead.
We got an Instapot and an air fryer last year. (The slow cooker had gotten broken, so the Instapot was a replacement for that, in addition to planned use for its other functions.)
Instapot gets used once a month or so at most. Air fryer (less than $50 on sale at JCPenny) gets used almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day. If we had a convection oven, it would get a lot less use, so factor that in if applicable.
