There is no direct appeal to the SCOTUS under current law and SCOTUS rules.
Pretty much useless to Trump.
The judge admitted in court during motions for the jury instructions that he was going to be the only voice on what the law was. Apparently, that meant any law of any kind from any jurisdiction anywhere.
This "acting" judge who is an expert on all law is serving on a county court bench and doesn't need any expert witnesses other than himself?

In a bit of irony, Merchan’s countless violation of Trump’s 6th Amendment makes reversal in the U.S. District Court a sure thing. No U.S. District Court Judge is going to risk impeachment by trying to cover up this bullshit. If impeached, he my not be convicted by the Senate, but why would he choose to endure impeachment in the House while knowing the U.S. Court of Appeals or SCOTUS will vacate Trump’s convictions in a NY minute.
First, he wouldn’t do that in a million years and if he did, NO.

It will take a long time to overturn this travesty, primarily because this judge worked to close off appeal routes, yes.
However, I believe a case exists that this judge knowingly did so, not for legal fairness or propriety but because of pre-bias and political enmity towards Trump as well as a severe conflict of interest.
This judge worked at every point to make sure that Trump could not defend himself.
As Biden has ignored the Supreme Court’s ruling on Student Loans, so should the right and Trump ignore the perfidious court tbat railroaded him.
Our Republic is dead..dead..dead.
It is time to take it back by declining to observe the illegitimate courts and powers.
Those who enforce the law should negate the laws.
Trump CANNOT be imprisoned before ALL avenues of appeal have been exhausted.

If the”closing-off” was itself unconstitutional or illegal, the appellate courts can accept an appeal —and will do so unless they are Democrat stooges.
What about the fact that the judge was not selected at random as required by N Y law? There is a congresswoman who submitted this to doj as odds for him being judge was like 1 in 48,000.
IMO, blocking the former FEC chair from being a witness (to the underlying ‘crime’ that isn’t a crime and which couldn’t be used to try Trump because it was a Federal issue) negates the defense’s ‘failure’ to try and call the witness.
This wasn’t a trial. It was a railroad with the judge and prosecution working -colluding together to convict him. Trump’s 1st Amendment rights were violated as well as his right to equal protection.

Remember that the second amendment is part of that written constitution. It was included because the founding fathers thought it may be needed if, as some of them actually opined, the courts went rogue.
No judge can foreclose on any aspect of the appeals process. The statement is ludicrous.
More than once I have been two feet from the hand cranked Bingo barrel they use in NY Supreme to select judges for cases. Seeing them spin it and pull out a token I recall being extremely doubtful that it was used one hundred percent of the time…
But isn’t the point of appeals wrongful rulings by the judge?
No way. Trump must fight this mess.
