That's an impossible task. You see, Rachel and I have something in common: we both graduated from Castro Valley HS, which is about 15 miles south of Berkeley. I believe she graduated in 1984, while I graduated in 1972.
That high school was woke, before the concept of woke was birthed. My last two months of HS was miserable. I was ostracized on campus for the crime of accepting a 4 year Army ROTC scholarship. Among the epithets hurled my way were "baby killer" and "sell out." Teachers told me to my face how "disappointed" they were with my decision. Oddly enough, that jump started my issues with authority figures.
I recall only one teacher who publicly supported me, my calculus teacher. He was a former Jesuit priest who was thrilled I was matriculating at Gonzaga.
Rachel has lived safely inside her liberal bubble her entire life, and it has brought her fame and fortune. She's not giving that up.
I have never set foot on that campus after graduation, nor have I attended any reunions. 48 years later, they can still kiss my posterior. Living in Texas, I see no reason to travel 1500 miles for a 4-6 hour event.
Ironically, there is a "Military Honor Roll" at the school, to honor those who served. I know it for what it is: to salve the guilt of those who hate the military...and believe me, they DO hate the military.
