Former MSNBC anchor trashes Biden after $320M Gaza pier falls apart: 'What a bloody s---show'

Former MSNBC anchor Mehdi Hasan slammed the Biden administration on Wednesday over the news that the $320 million pier the U.S. built to transport aid into Gaza had fallen apart after only a few days.

"Let's be clear: if this had happened on Trump's watch, we would all be mocking and denouncing him," Hasan wrote on X. "It's super-embarrassing that it happened on Biden's watch and the fact that it did shouldn't prevent us from saying: what a bloody s--tshow."

“She has done a spectacular job with her one and only real assignment, serving as Impeachment Insurance to keep Biden in our White House!”

After Trump wins, maybe she could stay on as our Veep to protect President Trump!

The book Secret Weapons of World War II, by Gerald Pawle, has very good discussions of the Mulberry harbors as well as many other inventions related to the D-Day invasion. Lots of good stuff in the book about other unusual weapons used during WWII as well.

"The pier took two months and $320m to build, lasted 12 days, and delivered less than 60 trucks' worth of food (most of which was stolen after it reached Gaza) before it broke and had to be towed away for repairs," Carlstrom wrote.

For those of us who thought the Biden team that managed the Afghanistan debacle couldn't do any worse...

the cost of that pair is now at $1.8 billion. It’s all about the DC criminals looting of the public purse, nothing more.

Wanna bet that thing didn’t really cost anywhere near $320 mil?

Where did the rest of the money for it go?

Inquiring minds want to know.

This reminds me of the break water they built during WWII after the Normandy Invasion.

The fact is, Brandon (or whoever wrote the speech) promised a pier and the Pentagon therefore had to carry out the mission publicly announced by the C-in-C. The Big Guy said a pier, so a pier it had to be. Our military was perfectly able to deliver aid into Gaza with equipment on hand, but how to do it was already determined.

The coast of Gaza is remarkably unsuited for a floating pier as has been shown. As for breakwaters, remember at D-Day lots of ships were sunk to help form breakwaters. There were lots of useless half-dead ships on hand and it was war—lots of ships had been sent to the bottom.

Imagine the ‘environmental impact statements’ required to sink ships to form a breakwater at Gaza today!

“ A Bailey bridge is a type of portable, pre-fabricated, truss bridge. It was developed in 1940–1941 by the British for military use during the Second World War and saw extensive use by British, Canadian and American military engineering units. A Bailey bridge has the advantages of requiring no special tools or heavy equipment to assemble. The wood and steel bridge elements were small and light enough to be carried in trucks and lifted into place by hand, without the use of a crane. The bridges were strong enough to carry tanks. Bailey bridges continue to be used extensively in civil engineering construction projects and to provide temporary crossings for pedestrian and vehicle traffic.”

'What a bloody s---show'- what about the Biden regime hasn't been?

In the back of my mind I keep thinking that perhaps some Patriots among the soldiers that were ordered to build it, decided that perhaps it didn't deserve their best effort.

When the corrupt political elite class controls most media they control the country. It has been this way for too long. They shut down the Hunter laptop story to steal an election.

Deep down, I still have this suspicion. They will still try to find a way to swap him out. Normally, they are all on the same page and not criticizing him, or pulling out any flaws, however, we are seeing more and more of it slowly.

Why do conservatives insist on making claims so easily shot down? (This is not just you - you have a lot of company.)

The Biden Admin. had as of last Dec. sent $412 million to Hawaii in response to the fires, including $300 million from FEMA and the SBA.

https://www.schatz.senate.gov/news/press-releases/schatz-hawaii-to-receive-nearly-4-million-in-additional-federal-disaster-aid-to-support-mauis-recovery-from-fires

This does not include the wages of hundreds of Federal employees involved.

That is, BTW, about 3x the amount the Feds sent to KY after the Dec. 2021 long track F4 tornado tore up Mayfield and several smaller towns, etc. Property losses were less, due to much lower values in KY, coming to an estimated $3.5 billion. MANY structures were badly damaged or destroyed, however. From NWS:

Damage Estimates by County:

Fulton County, KY:
Deaths: 1
Injuries: 5
Structures damaged: 40
Structures destroyed: 21

Hickman County, KY:
Deaths: 0
Injuries: 5
Structures damaged: 40
Structures destroyed: 12

Graves County, KY:
Deaths: 24
Injuries: 200 to 225
Single family residences:
1159 damaged and 730 destroyed
Commercial properties:
165 damaged and 18 destroyed
Other structures:
66 damaged and 37 destroyed

Marshall County, KY:
Deaths: 1
Injuries: 54
Structures damaged: 341
Structures destroyed or uninhabitable: 356

Lyon County, KY:
Deaths: 1
Injuries: 5
Structures damaged: 141
Structures destroyed: 45

Caldwell County, KY:
Deaths: 4
Injuries 11 (including 3 critically)
Structures damaged: Unknown
Structures destroyed: 300 (estimate)

Hopkins County, KY
Deaths: 15
Injuries: At least 200
Structures damaged: 1000 (estimate)
Structures destroyed: 500 (estimate)

Muhlenberg County, KY
Deaths: 11
Injuries: 25
Structures damaged: 81
Structures destroyed or uninhabitable: 84

Ohio, Breckenridge, and Grayson County, KY:
No deaths or injuries.

(Structures damaged were not tallied for the last 3 counties at the time of the report.)

There are plenty of solid issues on which to go after Biden. I’d say, keep the focus on those.
