Merchan only told the jurors that they could not infer guilt on the defendant’s part from Cohen’s conviction on campaign finance violations....

I hope that sank in because Steinglass said several times during the trial that Cohen was convicted for doing this at Trump's direction. This is a point that Andrew McCarthy is just livid about.

True, true! And yet Merchan routinely overruled defense objections to Steinglass and others implying Cohen had been directed by Trump to break campaign finance laws.
