“P.S. Hot water also freezes faster than cold water.zzzzzzz’

only because hot water placed in a freezer causes the thermostat in the freezer to believe the freezer compartment is warmer than it really is and that causes the freezer compressor to run much longer than it normally would ...

The compressor is either on or off.

It won’t run any harder trying to freeze water that is warm vs cool.

Let’s take the freezer out of the equation.

When winter arrives, and the temp drops below freezing, do your own easy test.

Buy 2 gallons of distilled water at the store.
Place one in your refrigerator to cool it.
Leave the other at room temp.

Get five identical glasses.

Fill the first with all warm water.
The second 3/4 full.
The third 1/2 full
The fourth 1/4 full
The fifth with not warm but all cool water.

Go back to the second and fill it with cool - giving you a mixture of 3/4 warm - 1/4 cool.
Do the same with #3 and #4.

Now you have five test subjects with a nice temperature gradient that can be placed outdoors with NO ‘thermostat’ or freezer to enter into the equation.

Watch, wait, test and time.

Viola! You do not have to take any web expert’s pontification on the subject.
