Donald Trump promised members of the Libertarian Party that he would “put a libertarian in my cabinet” and commute the life sentence of Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht, a top demand of a political movement that intends to run its own candidate against him.
“On day one, we will commute the sentence,” Trump said, offering to free the creator of what was once the internet’s most infamous drug clearinghouse. “We will bring him home.” His speeches more typically include a pledge to execute drug dealers, citing China as a model.
“It’s time to be winners,” said Trump, asking rhetorically if third party delegates wanted to go on getting single-digit protest votes. “I’m asking for the Libertarian Party’s endorsement, or at least lots of your votes.”

Here’s my view on the speech last night :
Along with Mike Lee and Vivek I thought Trump did did well.
The crowd were raucous not impolite or booing all the time and they weren’t hostile.
Trump got his message across with regards to Ross and cryptocurrency.
I think he will score well with that and win many votes.
Despite what the media are saying I thought it was OK.
I knew it would be one of the more interesting speeches of the campaign as Trump doesn’t do this kind very often.
He was the first nominee of a major party to address this conference in 50 years!
He took a risk and because of a few slight boos the media are distorting it as usual.
As a libertarian I’m now rooting for Trump to implement said policies.
So what does that tell you?
Why won’t he promise to give conservative a cabinet seat to conservatives. And they should try to get him to promise to put a conservative on the Supreme Court, meaning a Scalia judge and not a Kennedy judge.
This is why I think they threw the book at him.
Also, no judge will hear of an appeal. It’s totally absurd to get a double life sentence without parole for his first time, non-violent offense.
It’s a case that calls out for a president to look at. This is why they vested that power in the office.
Trump will get many votes because of this. The LP will not crack anywhere near 3% this time I can assure you many more will vote for him
Does that cabinet slot have a back porch attached to it?
Not much, since I don’t know who the other candidates for the Libertarian Party nomination are, and if that’s who you normally vote for or not. :)
If Trump manages to become the actual Libertarian Party candidate, then his name would probably appear twice on the 2024 election ballots as well, and he would therefore probably pick up a lot of additional votes.
The chances of him becoming their actual nominee is probably pretty low though, I would guess.
Do you know when that vote takes place?
How many leftist/deep staters have the 3%ers elected in close races over the years with their protest votes?
Julian Assange was indicted by Trump's justice department. Assange’s crime was exposing the deep state. Trump had ample opportunity to pardon Assange, but failed to do so. How does that square with your libertarian beliefs?
Until the Clinton Crime Family and Hunter Biden, and his father are in prison, we cannot justify putting any drug dealer in jail.

The vote is usually today and I cannot remember any of their names.
They wont get 3% which is a high watermark due to previous nominee Gary Johnson being somewhat known.
Their slither of the vote is up for grabs which is why Trump went there in the first place.
