How strange, I’m here in Frisco, just checking radar, it’s now about 20 miles north but it’s an isolated storm.

Currently, emergency crews have just declared a mass casualty event after a large, violent tornado passed through Interstate 35 in Valley View, Texas as Police scanners are reporting that at least 150 people are trapped inside a shell truck stop gas station with a collapsed roof.
Multiple injuries are being reported, and there is major damage, with numerous semi-trucks along with other vehicles being flipped over. Power lines are down, and debris is scattered across the highway, making rescue efforts challenging. Emergency services from neighboring towns are being dispatched to assist. This situation is still developing, and residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid the affected area.

Holy cow. Just had a guy there yelling at me on the phone 2 nights ago. That’s where he lives.
As an aside, I will be going to Frisco, Denton, North Dallas, Little Elm, and Granbury this summer. Out of those places, I've only been to Granbury which was very enjoyable.

Judging from how traffic is being rerouted- I think it may have hit the shell station just south of Valley view and not the one that is in the middle of town.
I hate the month of May in North Texas. It just sucks.....violent severe crazy dangerous weather. Every May.
UPDATE: At least five people, including children, are dead after an apparent tornado tore through a community north of Dallas, Texas.
