The debt is so bad that to have any chance of even reducing it will require several painful measures:

1) major cutbacks in government spending

2) raising taxes

3) establishing strict budgetary oversight and discipline

4) preventing the Fed from buying U.S. treasuries

None of those things are likely to happen IMO.

Or, we could just repudiate it. We could also nationalize all property owned by Russia, China, etc, since it can’t be moved.
