Yet another Republican U.S. senator has caught former President Donald Trump's eye as he searches for a ticketmate to replace former Vice President Mike Pence.
The New York Times reported Friday that Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton has jumped to the top of Trump's list.
The 47-year-old Arkansas Republican was elected to the Senate in 2014 after serving tours in Iraq and Afghanistan with the U.S. Army.
The pick of Cotton would be unexpected because it would be bland.
Cotton joins other veepstakes contenders from the upper chamber including Sens. Marco Rubio, Tim Scott and J.D. Vance.
The presumptive Republican nominee is also considering North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, who he brought to his recent mega-rally in Wildwood, New Jersey.
..
During an interview Thursday with News 12 Trump declined to name his top three VP picks.
'Well, we have so many, I don't want to do that,' the ex-president said after his rally in the Bronx.
Trump then commended Dr. Ben Carson, his former HUD secretary, Rubio, Vance and Rep. Elise Stefanik.
The ex-president said he would announce his choice 'sometime during the convention.'
The Republican National Convention is scheduled for mid-July in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Trump also has a number of former 2024 rivals at his disposal.
His chief rival, former U.N. Amb. Nikki Haley, finally said this week that she would vote for Trump in the November election.
Trump supporters interviewed by DailyMail.com in New Jersey liked the idea of the ex-president picking Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, another chief challenger.
DeSantis said months ago he wouldn't take the promotion - though more recently has started fundraising for Trump.
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy is also a favorite with the MAGA crowd - and at 38-years-old would bring youth to the ticket.

He’d be a good one.
Cotton’s a good man but probably doesn’t pick him up any additional support.
Yup, Cotton is an a i,al when he takes on Schumer and the rest of the liberal hate-America crowd.
Cotton as VP is a story made out of whole cloth.
” He’d be a good one.”
yeah.....this better not be true. Cotton is part of the Neocon war machine. Hard Pass.
Good one in every sense.
I’m still hoping for J.D. Vance, whose life story is an inspiration to all poor people. An effective speaker too
There are many choices, some good, some bad. I’m still thinking he’s going to pick Gabbard. I have my concerns but I think it would draw people to the ticket a bit more. As many votes Trump can garner is preferred if we have a chance to overcome the fraudulent votes.
God help us if Trump loses.
Cotton being a vet and Burgum being an energy expert would be my top picks. Cotton supporting the military and Burgum supporting our energy companies.
Marco ‘Foam Boy’ Rubio? Seriously?
Nope, he can’t be trusted.
We need Cotton in the Senate, tho.
Come on people. He has the look of a doofus. Either. that or Floyd R. Turbo.
You can’t trust the media. The media happily runs stories that would cause the conservative purity crowd to drop support of a candidate. You have to look at their record.
The media would tell you that Trump goes for beers with Schumer if they could get you to believe it.
NO!
> Cotton’s a good man but probably doesn’t pick him up any additional support. <
Right. Job One should be getting Trump across the finish line and into the White House. I don’t see Cotton doing that.
Forever war pig. Next?
My source 😂 tells me it’s
Jd Vance
Ben Carson
Byron Donald’s
tulsi gabbard
Rubio
In that order
VA Del. Nick Freitas might be worth considering. He seems to be a fighter, is considered a conservative with a libertarian streak and even managed to win a write-in election.
His mug collection would probably grow exponentially.
