The US State Department is implementing a new visa restriction policy in response to a repressive law and crackdowns on protests in Georgia, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced Thursday.

Blinken, who noted that he hopes the country’s leaders will reconsider the so-called “foreign agents” bill, said the new visa policy would target “individuals who are responsible for or complicit in undermining democracy in Georgia, as well as their family members.”

“This includes individuals responsible for suppressing civil society and freedom of peaceful assembly in Georgia through a campaign of violence or intimidation,” he said in a statement. The United States will also launch a review of its bilateral cooperation with Georgia, Blinken added.

What would have been the State Department's color revolution in Georgia? The Peach Revolution?

This is how the state department reacts to a law that was passed Democratically in a Democratic country. Quite revealing.

Not just that, it’s a law that is modeled DIRECTLY on a US law (FARA), except the Georgian version is much weaker.

What the US is saying is that if the US is not permitted to UNDERMINE the Georgian government, Georgia will be punished.

This is a perfect example of how PATHETIC the West has become, with Leftists now having to DEMAND the right to be let-in to destroy otherwise-free states.

Yeah when I read this that is what I instantly think of. The whole process is a joke. People who just want to visit have to go through hoops but then the southern border makes it all insane. I think the left can summed up like this. Absolve the guilty and punish the innocent.
